While you east coasters were stuck inside in a snowstorm, I was enjoying beautiful sunny weather and the early spring green out in Anza-Borrego desert in the mountains above the town of Borrego Springs.
I went outside. I took many pictures. Here's a few.

Monty, you should post a pic of Font's Point.
I'ven been going to Borrego for years - I've got a secret campsite off of Peg Leg Road.

You always go to the most wonderous, spectacular places. I envy that.
I love the last picture. Mountains always take my breathe away.

I was driving across the bridge that goes from Stanley Park to North Vancouver and for the first time in months instead of being fixated on if I could climb over the railing or not, I was able to see how beautiful the mountains were, glittering crystal with snow, wisps of green from the trees, and the wonderful brilliant blue water, streaked from the sunshine. Then I thought of taking a picture. Then I thought of this series. Then I thought of this site. Then I thought about how high the railings were again... haha
Nice pictures.

Where's the shots of your coyote-gnawed remains I was promised? :)
===============
Actually you almost got your wish, I twisted my knee on a log that shifted, and had to hike the last 2 1/2 miles out of the canyon on a bum knee with a 40 pound pack on.
~~~~~~~~~
Beautiful photos!
That 40 pound pack and the twisted knee... have you recovered?
I am having probs posting multiple images like yours.
Beautiful.
I am freezing my ass off. I will also probably work late tonight bc I will become annoyed at the prospect of mass transit in this weather.
Monkeys: wtf man, they don't build prefab hangars like they used to?
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Central and South Georgia are COMPLETELY unprepared for any cold weather hazards, apparently it's reflected in the building codes.
For really proper and guaranteed ohhhhs and ahhhhs, you need to stroll the Minerettes.
King's Canyon?
Haven't been there, yet. I'm working my way back up to being able to take on the high sierras, I was hoping to spend a week or so this summer up on the PCT around Tahoe but that's not gonna happen, I'll be in Afghanistan.
Beautiful, we went from Saturday, at 65 degrees and sunny, to Sunday, 29 degrees, and snowing all day. This morning we woke up, and it was iced over.
When I got to work, we discovered 4 buildings covering approx. 7200 square feet combined had completely collapsed due to the snow/ice/wind loads. Luckily nobody was under there when it happened.
I think that's still probably the best word.
bummer on the cold, but yes you would have fried to a crisp out there. I got home last night and was washing my face to get the dried-up clumps of lip balm & sunblock off.
Juniper. smelled great, everytime you brush against it you get that scent it gives off.
we had someone get a vein in their leg lanced by the spine on an agave cactus. I wish I had pictures of that.
Forensic:
climbed approximately 4000ft in about a mile. Goddamned steep mountain but the view from on top (as you can partially see) was fantastic. My legs are fucking killing me today.
Saw snow to the north (climbing there 2 weeks from now) and a couple bighorn sheep, but they were too far off to capture with camera.
I'm not on the East coast but we still had 4 to 5 inches of snow dumped on us.
