This is a photo of a matress in a Guest house I was staying at in Laos. "Happy marrage" indeed.

Id be up for that shandy. Around June would be good as Im heading to Argentina for a few months to try out the local umm, steaks.

sounds an incredibly sensible plan
if you're in aus for a while and feel like a break on the south coast let me know - seeing as how this place i've rented is actually MINE and not satan's i can actually do whatever i want there, a novel concept after the last 17 years of servitude. i'd like to pick your brains about laos etc - i often feel criminally stupid for not lounging around a place like that.
in fact, as it is MY place (for six months anyway) perhaps it's time for the long anticipated aus ubercon. bukkake sessions with circe, idqd poetry recitals, etc etc. maybe the mythical wazza could be dug up.
rosedale is a really lovely spot - walking tracks through the bush to isolated beaches, rock formations and all that stuff.
