No no, this isn't as gay as UGR09 or ADD09 or quite frankly as hack as any of that gayness. This isn't an annual contest where someone is crowned victorious. No my friends, this is a contest merely to drag the lurkers out of the closet and participate. This will see who has shitty taste and who has some decent taste.
It's pretty plain and simple, peanut butter and jelly, pen and paper, cut and dry, etc. etc. I'm endorsing a post where you explain why you like a certain piece of art, how it makes you feel, what you enjoy, why it makes you feel that way, what you don't enjoy, etc. I'd hate to see a bunch of posts with just a picture because let's face it, even I can do that.
Rules:
1. I win. It doesn't matter what you post because I automatically win as I do in all my competitions.
42. Any medium is game as long as it's accompanied by some sort of writing, whether it be sculpture, painting, carving, etc. et. al.

My entry: Soldier Take Warning
Besides being one of my favorite artists, Dali has a wonderful way of getting in subtle details that you may not notice until the 4th or 5th minute, sometimes over an hour of looking at one of hist paintings. I'vd had the good fortune to actually see one of his works in a museum and even the brush strokes on canvas seem to convey some message.
Green is my favorite color and this picture embodies that. And who doesn't like skulls.

You should visit the museum in Figueres, Spain. Yes the one Dali made of some medieval castle, and not some meshed up commercial cheap shit museum. After 13 years, i'm still fucking impressed.

I like Dali.
We used to have a house in northern Spain where Dali used to live and there's a nice little Dali museum but somehow the line to that particular museum always seemed bigger than the town....always. Figueras, Spain.
A one hour drive further down the road could take you over the Pyrénées to a little village on the coast of Spain called Cadaqués where Dali lived for a while.

Huge fan of Dali, and every time we visit my grandmother in law in her retirement city of Sun City, Fl, I promise myself that we'll visit the Dali museum Skrap was talking about.
Hopefully I'll get to do it before the old bird dies, though she's 98, subsists on a diet of honey buns and coffee, and smokes in between breaths from her oxygen mask.
She's lived like this for awhile, so I expect her to last another 5 years contrary to all human expectations, in which time I'll DEFINATELY visit.
