Rawg's long term relationship with his lady ended when he went to fight in Afghanistan. He is bored over there but he likes going for long walks so it is working out well on a personal level. He merely wants to find a relationship to 'complete' him.
Often he wishes he were a homosexual, but he secretly feels that even if this were the case that his squadmates would bore him as partners. There are no women in Afghanistan, or at least no relationships. Just long walks and plenty of time to think. He doesn't grasp how great it is that there aren't that many mosquitos.
He feels at a loose end. He contemplates going back to College but has no idea what he would study. He thinks about traveling, but he's done that and has it found it the fulfilling experience he would have hoped. The long term relationship he has tried was "something to do" but wasn't really ticking the boxes. With the only step left being fatherhood, he feels no remorse about the end of his lady squeezing. At least for now.
Little does he know that the true path towards happiness is paved with self-employment. I've never asked him what his skills or hobbies are but that is irrelevant really; whatever he does will provide him the simple nourishment his soul needs for sustanence. At long last a vaccine for young man's disease.

Yeah, I got a new tune in composition entitled "The Thrill." And it goes somethin' like this: "I stand on the hill, not for a thrill, but for the breath of a fresh kill. Never mind the man who contemplates doin' away with license plates. He stands alone, anyhow, bakin' the cookies of discontent by the heat of the laundromat vent. Leavin' his soul!" Then like in poetry I go dot-dot-dot, you know, kinda off center, then I drop down and then I go: "Leavin' his soul! And partin' the waters of the medulla oblongata of - -brrrrrr! - -mankind!" That was a damn good song, wasn't it Doyle?
