Damn. About three hours ago I got an urge I haven't had for over four years. The feeling was too strong to resist. I went into the closet and pulled it out. It looked just like it did the last time, and it brought back many happy memories.
What should I try? The old tried and true, or something I have never done before?
I had a hard time remembering what I used to do, so I went with the standard approach.
Shit. I'm too rusty to do this. Good thing no one else is in the house. They would only laugh.
After two hours both of my hands hurt, and I had to stop.
Maybe someday I'll really get back into playing that old twelve-string Yamaha. It started to come back to me, but my fingers were almost bleeding. I love that old guitar.

I was at a college party once (LOADED on tequila and Jack Daniels, mind you) and I was playing this kids acoustic guitar for a small crowd of women and dudes. I got a little over-zealous and I cut my strumming hand on a string. Being totally wasted my blood was really thin, I proceeded to bleed all over myself and the guitar without knowing it until after I had finished. I talked to a girl later who said it was the most "rock" thing she has ever seen.

I use my Ibanez 12-string to play Dylan and Denver.
Most of the time I just abuse my old C&W guitar.

I had a Fender acoustic, but my son decided to appropriate it when I bought the twelve-string.
We used to play together, but he likes crap that I don't consider music. Yep, the old generation gap. My dad hated the Beatles when I was a teenager, but everything works out in the end. Play a tune on your favorite guitar, and sing the words: "Bubba, he's an old dude, but he loves the music."

Of my many guitars - my favourite has to be my ol' fender accoustic.
The sunburst Gibson Les Paul is adorable - but heavy on stage (neck killer).
The blonde Epiphone Joe Pass semi accoustic sounds deep and honest ..
The red ibanez is low action, light, easy but...
its all about the old fender accoustic. It only cost me £500 and that was 15 years ago. Think its worth more now.

The only working digital camera I have right now is the one on the cell phone, and I don't have the software to put the pic on the computer. Pictures on the web are mostly crap, but you can look them up if you wish. They show the guitar listed for $399, but that is twice what I paid over ten years ago. The neck is still straight as an arrow, the action is wonderful, and the tone is fantastic, even though the strings are four years old. Imo get some strings next week.

Very true. The only thing I've found that even comes close is to play something in a minor key. Minor key songs usually sound sorta sad.
