I saw these pictures on a collection of photography websites that a friend of mine sent me. According to the credits, none of them are photoshopped, but a few made me stop and really look and wonder. There are some phenomena called Mother of Pearl clouds, as well as lenticulous. Some are as simple as thunderheads shot from a distance. Hopefully you haven't seen them all already.

Everytime I see weird clouds I think of Independence Day and think alien space-craft are going to come out and start shooting.

No, THIS...^...is being an ass.
Try: Google images/mammitus (or) mammary
And maybe, when you grow up, I'll tell you what type of cloud that is and how/why it forms up.
but probably not.

I know Wikipedia is less than reliable, generally speaking, but since you're bent on being an ass for no reason, Wildman, try a little education. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mammatus_cloud

@EI - those are called mammatus clouds. Hot air above + cold air below + rapid air current = "boiling" clouds.
^^^^^
Those are not mammitus or mammary clouds.
Please try again.

Colorado has more rainbows than anyplace I've ever seen. I went on a whitewater rafting trip up in Sugarloaf when I was a teenager, and I remember that wen we first got there, we'd stop and take a picture of the rainbow every time. By the end of the week, we were all like "Oh, whoopee... another rainbow..."

I've seen really strange cloud formations here in Colorado as well as in Maryland and Oregon. Photoshop is a possibility, but I don't think so. Real life is always stranger than fiction.
Cool pictures.

During the Marilyn Manson set at Download last weekend I looked up and saw a cloud shaped like a massive dick. Apt I thought, considering Manson's pathetic performance.
Prodigy however, fucking smashed it.

@Donkey - we get a lot of sunset storms here in Texas during the summer, so most of these color combinations don't seem weird to me. The one that jacked with me the most were the mother of pearl clouds (the rainbowy looking ones 10th down on the left). I had to google them, and it wasn't till I found a website that explained them that I believed it. But I'm with you... I don't know that the colors weren't enhanced in a couple of these. The red and green photo is the northern lights over what appears to be an erupting volcanom and I don't know of anywhere in the world where you can see the northern lights AND an erupting volcano.
Anyone know?
