I hear voices. My heart starts jack hammering in my chest in a way thats just not so great. I smoke way to much, my fucking chest hurts I most definitely have the black lung pop. I'm sitting in a blue chair. Facing nothing, just a door that says office.
Fuck it, I hear those voices. They're angry now.
"I'm FUCKING SERIOUS."

"Oh, you think thats fuckin funny?"
Dramatic pause.
Boom. An oddly disruptive boom, a smashed firework under a bridge boom.
Im still here, in the blue chair. Staring at a Sudoku book. All the easy ones are done, and none of the mediums. The hard pages are soft on the edges, no one ventures there.
The door opens, its the manager.
"How long have you been here?"
I pause, I have no idea. Three minutes, fourteen, several? Who knows.
"Three minutes."
She looks at me.
"What was that?"
I pause again, I have no idea what that was. Someone was killed awhile back in my town, a murder here is about once every ten years.
Fuck.
Not a gun, just a fire work. Sure sounds like a gun.
The police are here now, how typical. Always late.

Is this poetry? A true story, partially dramatized? I enjoyed it a lot, reminded me of Bukowski. Also, to tuts, I'm sorry you live in the worst country in the world. I'd invite you to live in America, with me, but I hate Australia so much that I couldn't have one of it's people living in the same house as me.

Haha, we arn't even allowed guns for no reason in Australia. Anyway there isn't really that many murders. About a month ago in the area I live, a guy resisted arrest and was driving then running around with a gun, all the streets got closed and we were housebound. Then a couple weeks after that two people in a house 15 minutes away got charged with murder, all in a month, in a place where people driving too fast is the biggest problem for the police.
