You feel the world closing in,You feel the pressures of life
The pressure off being a husband, the pressure of being a wife
You feel sometimes like it never ends, like you'll never get ahead
You take it out on each other, and that's when those words are said
The words you know you cant take back, words that cut to the bone
Words that hurt you both so much and leave you both alone
You use words like hate, or i wish I'd never married you
Then later you think on what was said, and your not sure what to do
You wish that you could take them back, but pride gets in the way
You want to say your sorry, but those are words you just cant say
You have both been to that point, the point of no return
The point where all you want is out, and that's when bridges burn
You tell them that your leaving, you say your finally done
You say that for once in your life, your looking out for number one
You say that you don't love them and its time to just move on
But what you don't realize is, the one your leaving isn't the only one left alone
You may not believe it, but I've been where you are
I've fought that long hard battle, and my heart still has the scar
I walked away because i wanted out, I was selfish, cruel and mean
I did damage to lives, that to this day have not been seen
But I did get a chance to take it back, to start my life anew
I tried to love with all my heart, I thought I'd done all I could do
then you got to that point, and broke my heart in two
You did the same to me, as had done to you
But the beauty of it's the same, as when i walked out on you
You were there when i came back, and I will be here to
We made it through before because of prayer and love
We'll make it through again, with help from up above
