Paul Smith was born in Philadelphia in 1921 and at a very young age was derailed by cerebral palsy, keeping him out of school and a normal childhood life. Never having a chance to receive a normal education Paul taught himself art and how to play chess.
When using the typewriter Paul used his left hand to steady the right one: http://www.paulsmithfoundation.org/videos/incredible_sunday_clip_01.mov
Since he couldn't press two keys at the same time, he almost always locked the shift key down and made his pictures using the symbols at the top of the number keys.
In other words, his pictures were based on these characters ...

It's a camera.
The main design of a camera is to take pics.
A typewriter isn't designed to take pics.
And disabled cunts shouldn't be able to produce such art with a typewriter, which is what makes this pretty cool.
Just as disabled cunts can't take pics with a camera....
