So... I'm assuming the term "Axolotl" is used in Frank Herbert's DUNE books?
I wouldn't know. I've never read them. They never really sounded all that interesting. My brother read the first few and said they were crap. I've actually heard that from a number of people. I don't know anything about his son's books, the continuing saga.
I think it's "cute" that you somehow think that to be a writer I obviously must read every single book ever published...
... or at least when it's pertaining to the conversation at hand & you can use it for your own side of the argument.

Idiots. I had a pet Axolotl his name was Gregory Sanchez, because they are also known as mexican walking fish. He would eat raw steak from my hand once a week and lived ten years. Until one dark and stormy night we moved him to an outside pond, when we came out the next day he was upside down dead. We think it got too cold for him. I had to take his soft creepy slimy body out and his little toes touched me, it was gross.

Hmmm, someone did something similar to this before.
I don't really recall the specifics, but I just remember it involved the pairing of Axolotl's name and a pic of one of those lil' creatures.
I can't be bothered to find it, and I only remember it 'cause I was a bit surprised to learn that the user had named himself after the thing.
Like Hartman said, I had just assumed it was weird code or obscure literature reference.
Now that I think about it, I believe it may have been a random TTOM post...
