Someone posted a link to King Khan and BBQ Show's song Fish Fight on here a while ago and ever since then I've been searching for good practically unknown bands. Anyone have any recommendations?

Fucking truth. I saw them live once, blinder of a show.
They did a couple EPs as well which aren't bad.
Also, Sonic Youth are shit.

I love holding my kids captive on long car trips with only sonic youth or the pixies in the player, it infuriates them.

bull in the heather is probably my favourite. I love holding my kids captive on long car trips with only sonic youth or the pixies in the player, it infuriates them. Apparently sonic youth and the pixies are 'gay' and 'nobody would like them', when I point out that sonic youth have been on the simpsons it infuriates them even more.
upsetting young children is excellent fun I'm thinking of having some more.

What madness is this?
I saw them at the Camden Roundhouse a few years ago, it was awesome, I sweated through two t-shirts and it's possibly my favourite gig ever.

You get +2 for being curious, a sadly forgotten virtue.
Check out a band from New York called Nightmare River Band-I played a show here in Houston with them recently and they were definitely a good time.
Also, here in H-town is a band called The Small Sounds
Oh yeah, and Heartless Bastards.
And The Devil Makes Three.
And, for good measure, go ahead and get into Old Crow Medicine Show.

They're not bad at all for unknown house/rap music. I'm more into rock and all the genres and sub-genres that go with it though.

You should look up Kill Paradise and/or Breathe Carolina.
Not sure if it's your cup of goats milk, but experimentation never hurt anyone... (Except dumb asses with explosives and corosives etc.)
