I pasted a link into a few reviews last week regarding sand animation, but apparently there's many more people than I would have thought doing it. It seems to be a mostly Eastern European thing judging from the names on the list.

Ferenc Cakó- I don't know much about him, but he did Vivaldi's Four Seasons wonderfully, sometime during the 50's, and he was from Hungary.

By following the wiki trail, which I do far too often, I also found out about something called paint on glass animation, in which the artist uses a slow drying paint, or paint/glycerin mixture to make awesomeness. I'm not really going to get into this one, but you've probably seen this guy's work in commercials before. I know I've seen the American Airlines "Rose" before.

I think the Ukrainian chick is miles better.
Sand animation looks fucking easy, but I bet it's really difficult to do well.

The Ukrainian chick is definately better, but you have to figure that the Hungarian guy did his work in the 50's, and they've probably refined the techniques since then. Plus, she's pretty damn bangable, which makes her far more entertaining.
