I didn't go to see the Arctic Monkeys today.

I've been to see them in Houston the last few years, they play before the ACL (Austin City Limits) festival.

It's ace because they aren't famous here really so they paly really small (500 ish) venues and you get to actually see them rather than watching a stadium big screen or dots on a stage, same with Oasis. I saw them in Vegas last December they were SUPPORTING (!!!) Ryan Adams (don't know who he is) and when we came in there was less than 1000 people there and it was pretty interactive. Russell Brand was there (didn't know who he was at the time) so was the bass player from the Killers (ditto), we were standing and having a pint with them, it was all cool until some English bird came over and started being all giddy. Ricky Hatton came in too. I was fucking A list man. Again, until that stupid cow from Newcastle fucked it up.

Anyway, the reason I didn't see one of my favourite bands today was because I had to attend a gala for the Jewess's hospital she works at.

You'd think I'd be annoyed but I wasn't because La Jewessa hasn't been able to attend these gala evenings for the past few years because she's been too fucked up by her MS.

The extremely futuristic and unproven (in very early stage trials) surgery she had at Stanford in May has given her most of her old life back. It was great to see her mingling and full of energy.

I actually wanted to go home first 'cos I was tired.

In reality it was because the F1 (Japanese GP) was on and I wanted to watch it.

Anyway, my uber chums, love, like, indifferent or loathe me - life is good and I wanted to share.

well scourge in answer, id say if youd ever had a girlfriend youd know what i mean about no girls with you at a music festival = good festival. and then id say 'OH SNAP' and high five myself for buring you so well.

not always, but by the end of festival season, when theyve caused all the chaos, dragged you away from the bands you just want to sit and fucking listen to for longer than 15 minutes, partied too hard and passed out, nd just generall shat you for a vast proportion of the time spent at the event, a day of sitting in the sun with mates, drinking some beers whilst watching some music, then as the sun sets, heading down and launching around in a mosh for a few hours is a simple pleasure that is strangely hard for women to get their pretty little heads around.

i agree...girls are a pain in the ass in music festivals.

i just want to get high on everything and drink myself to death but bringing my gf to those feels like my mother is watching me. she doesn't bitch but you can see in her look that she disapproves.

violent femmes closed out the year rage played. was the worst BDO ive ever had, but femmes almost managed to redeem it. there were only a couple thousand people who stayed to watch their set, as it was the last, but it was so good and the crowd was so into it.

Haha, fuck you! I rock out at festivals, I don't know what sort of girls you hang around....
I'm not butch or bogan neither are my friends but we go harder then the boys do. Maybe because I have been with mine for so long he no longer gives a shit about what I am doing, why I am whining and does what he likes. I sat through an hour of violet femmes and danced with him just because he likes them, I'm way to young to give a shit bout them.

Also, my roommate turned me on to Black Light Burns featuring Wes Borland of Limp Bizkit fame. Surprisingly I wasn't as disappointed as I expected to be. Might be worth a listen if you are into that sort of thing.

i had one of the most fun moshes in years at a festival earlier this year. NIN were playing on main stage, and this older than dirt punk band id never seen or heard before, called face to face played on side stage. was absolutely fucking knackered by the end of it. so much fun.

One of my favourite gigs was at Reading, everyone was watching Linkin Park on the main stage and myself and a few mates were in a crowd of about 20 in a small tent watching Evan Dando play a Lemonheads set and having a chat.

Pleased for you and the Doris, good news.

Faith no more are coming to soundwave in Perth. Might go there. I don't think we will do the BDO this year it is a pretty lame lineup and we have seen most of the acts twice already.
