I went to the X Games this weekend with the hopes of seeing a few of the big name skaters, and checking out some of the events specifically the Moto X Big Air on Sunday. I brought my 11 yr. old, so a passing by someone like say Tony Hawk would have been huge for him.
Boy were we disappointed. Not only did we not see one of the athletes, there was a 90 minute line just to get in to the outside events. All the really big events were inside, and all events inside & outside were sold out hours before their scheduled start times, they oversold the venue by at least 3 times its capacity and then at 4:00pm said over the intercom that the indoor events were full to capacity and would not be letting anyone else into the Staples Center for the 7:00pm competition. Of course that is was the "Big Air" competition.
That sucked! We invested about 6 hours into waiting in lines and visiting a few promo booths and then waiting in line to leave. All in about 90 degree heat in LA.
X Games are coming to LA again next year but I think I'll just watch it on TV.

Or, just maybe, you could have watched that crap on tv.
Try a real sport, like skydiving, without the parachute. The world would be a better place.

Bummer. Sounds like they need to expand the venue. +2 for taking your kid.
