What really sucks about phone banking (also credit card telephone
trickery) is that you always get prompted to enter your "sixteen digit
account number, followed by the pound sign."
What's the first question that an account rep asks you when they get a
hold of you?
"Hi, can I have your sixteen digit account number, please?"
HONESTLY, what is the *point* of typing in the number only to be asked
what it is thirty seconds later?
Get a clue.
phil.
