Life without you
I open my eyes but still I can't see,
The tears have blurred all around me.
I don't understand the pain,
I don't know why its there.
It's been months since you have caused a tear.
Years since Its hurt this bad.
Why is it when I need to be strong, the pain floods through me.
Rendering me incapable of anything.
I don't think of anything but you,
I close my eyes and it's you I see.
Its times like these when I remember,
Times like these I wish I could forget.
I thought the hard part was over,
Thought I was used to living without.
Without the guidance,
Without you.
It's so final it's never going to change,
You are gone and you will never be back.
I thought I knew this and knew how to handle,
But it seems right now I can't.
Sometimes I think of what would be different,
Or how I would be different with you here,
But I can't even guess how you would have influenced me.
You were my Dad and I don't even know how life would be with you here.
