First want to say, Loren, you rock. I meant to tell you that I was pretty suprised that somebody picked up on the Pink Floyd reference. :-)
So anyways (haha)
Left work @ five and as soon as I sat in my car my stomach tightened up and my mind starting racing. I wasn't sure what to expect and was nervous as hell. I had a ½ hour drive and a ½ a blunt to help relax me a bit before my 'big arrival'.
After what felt like one of the longest rides of my life I finally pull into the driveway and go upstairs....knock knock (I've misplaced my keys Again)..he finally answers the door. Our two roommates are there. I go into our room, sit down on the bed and tell him in an uncharacteristically calm manner that 'I'm packing my stuff and leaving'. His reply? 'You're so fucking corny' um, ok. So I started packing and he finally asks 'why', I give him the reasons. I explain (still remaining fairly calm) that his feelings and actions warrant psychiatric help. We didn't scream or yell. He threw his watch, made a hole in the wall and went into the living room. I continued packing and walked out that fucking door never once glancing back....he didn't try to stop, which I am truly thankful for.
I came to my pop's, parked my shit in my old room and met him at the bar for a few beers. It was a pretty depressing evening to say the least.
This was major for me.....I half expected myself to wuss out like I usually do. I knew I had to get out sooner or later and anyone who replied on my first post had an eensy weensy bit to do with me having the balls to make the move.

Hopefully this is the final chapter of this drama.

you should be very proud of yourself.
And be happy because things should only get better from here on

Good for you. It takes a lot of guts for anyone to admit they've made a big mistake and to take steps to fix it.

I'd watch out for this guy though. Get yourself a gun or some pepper spray or something.

Loren, this is some awesome advice you've given me here. The wheels of my mind are currently churning up ideas of what my 'freedom' gift should be. Once I decide what to get I think I'll post it here.
You are absolutely correct though when bringing up the whole 'falling off the wagon' scenario. Dude, I have been thinking about that. Hoping he doesn't call. Hoping we don't bump into each other. I am considering calling a couple of old friends (but nervous about what their reaction might be seeing we haven't spoken in so long)and am also working on getting a computer so I can find some ways to kill time during those low, lonely moments.
I am very happy that I posted this and feel the same about the replies.

DJMatt states in his 'late for work' post: "I think the point of this post is so I've made this declaration public, and merely by doing that, I will be more likely to follow through."

How true is that statement? well, it's pretty darn true. GO MATT!!!!

I know I said this before but Loren, you fucking rock....you give me all kinds of inspiration.

Hahaha! Kim, that was my fucking THEME song for a long time.

I'm relieved everything is OK. Just remember, ending a bad relationship can be like quitting an addiction. It's easy to fall off the wagon (if you get lonely or he guilts you into seeing him), and when that happens, you feel even shittier when you "wake up" again.

Best of luck, and stay strong! I honestly suggest you buy yourself a "freedom" gift. Something great, something sexy - something you'd KNOW he would hate on you. :-)

Loren

First off I'd like to also say congrat's!!! This seems to always be the biggest and hardest step for anyone to take in such a relationship. Way to go!

Second:
"Hopefully this is the final chapter of this drama."
And so your first chapter of your new life begins...

...Ubersite is now your new date!

cheers,
