Hi all.
I'm in Germany, and having a sucky day, so I need to rant and rave a tad.
Okay, so I'm consulting for my old work part time while I'm here, doing some billing shit, yadda yadda, because quite honestly, he really didn't need to replace me with a fulltime person. But, he gets bored after two months, hires another girl, decides that we will share computer space (since I'm logging in remotely) and then doesn't train her or really tell her anything that's going on. So gradually (thru no fault of hers) she starts doing some of the shit i'm supposed to be doing remotely. At this point it has become so tangled and annoying because she's not trained to do these tasks, (again, boss' fault) and I spend more time figuring out what happened than I do actually doing any of my work. I'm quitting. Think I'll train her remotely and then find a job tutoring English here, or maybe just find a pimp German sugar daddy.
Anywho.
Meanwhile I went to class, the one American in a mostly German class on commerce law or something (not completely positive what the class is about) and sat there utterly clueless like every other day. Fortunately the prof didn't call on me today like last week. i am so friggin tired every day here because I'm trying to speak in German all day long and understand German classes, and my German host family (very nice people, but living in a host family is questionable when you're 24), I just want a goddamn American diet pepsi (not this grotesque pepsi lite imitation europe sells), a bag of COOL RANCH doritos, no 'americano doritos' and a box of kraft macaroni and cheese that doesn't cost 2.50euros a box. don't get me wrong, germany is great, but where's comfort food when you need it!
i went to walmart the other day, and they had an 'american' section. Condiments (peanut buttter, marshmallow fluff, barbeque sauce), macaroni and cheese, and some betty crocker cake mix. How american.

i want to come to Germany, too! my German is a bit rusty, but i think i could manage. it wouldn't take me long to be able to remember everything once i got over there.

I here ya man. Sometimes we just need a Pepsi. Vent your anger on Germany. Become a spy for America and sneak into the German bases and see what kinda crazy gizmos they have. Maybe you'll find a Kremlin Pepsi, the best Pepsi tasted. It was imported from Russia.

A lot of the younger Germans don't like American Soldiers it seems. Oh, and Gummi bears kick ass here. Oh, and German guys still dress gay.

i haven't had bad experiences with taxi people. my german is decent, so they're nice to me cause i try.
overall i like germany, i'm just frustrated because i'm trying so hard to speak and make friends and deal with living in a host family...etc.
bratwurst is good, mozzarella sticks are better

Where in Germany are you? Im in Bamberg, on a US army base... we got loads of real American food here... and get this AMERICAN dollars, if your an American, you can get in. Anyway, I know what you mean,all the stores close early and you can't do shit on Sunday. The next time I hear somebody talking shit about me in German in a taxi, Im going to go apeshit. Also, German music is absolutely horrific. The guys dress gay here as well, "Euro-gay" as I have named it. I guess I needed some venting here too.
