Ok so heres my first attempt at using photoshop for anything but logos and or applying filters to shit. Any pointers are welcome.

a good first effort. A nice black handle bar moustache and a great big black rodney would have completed the picture off nicely.
+1 for effort. But remember next time always include a penis.

lasso is usually not a great tool.
i usually put things in layers and use the fuzzy brush eraser to smooth things out.
