Parents of five students are filing a lawsuit against their children's school district because of a wireless network the district installed. They say the signals broadcasted by the network are damaging to growing children.
La la la, it's another case of the "parent of the dumb kid who is in denial that they raised the dumb kid."
Why the hell people are going so sue crazy at children's schools? Do they not realize that all they're doing is taking money away from the school system that would otherwise go toward something crazy like, umm, educating their children? What do these fucking greedy bastards expect to gain? Aparently this network has been in place since 96, so it's been seven years. SEVEN years, and just now someone is affected? I think not.
If it were this one episoide I wouldn't think twice about it, however my brother's wife teaches fifth grade in a rather ritzy school district in Marin County (CA) and regularly has 2-3 lawsuits filed against her at any given time. These lawsuits are usually caused by things as flaky as "the homework was too diffucult for my son and cause him to cry to bed every night" or "Why the hell is my daughter NOT in the advanced math class?" I'm not kidding, really, someone sued over this. Most lawsuits ask for compensation in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. None of these parents are hurting for money, most have combined household incomes of six or seven figures. Also, this district gets some pretty major grant money. But at the elementary school she works at, they don't even have a playground for the students to play on at recess.
Now I've heard of many more lawsuits being filed against countless school systems, that's unavoidable. But when you're sueing over something that has no founding evidence, or is just plain stupid, that's just fucked up greedy. Perhaps there is something affecting these kids. It's that they're dumb or fucked up as much as the parents. Guess what, somebody has to be the dumb one in the class. Sucks to be you.
If I were a parent in this place, I'd be going jihad on these fuckbomber parent's asses. Education is hurting enough. Why do they feel the need to claw an open wound?

No shit. The problem in this country is that we actually *encourage* this kind of behavior. Some dumb chick spills hot coffee in her lap? What? It was HOT?! A million dollars please!
I don't want to generalize, but there sure are a lot of fucked-up whiners in this country.
People: take some personal responsibilty. It's not always someone elses fault!

Our judicial system is the leading cause behind this as the judges don't wield enough power to simply dismiss any and all civil action. I have been sued and ever since I have wanted to propose that in ANY failed civil suit, the plaintiff pays ALL of the defendant's costs including legal fees, missed wages, and phone bills.
It's a fucking mad house over here in the states as far as suing is concerned.

People sue the school district here all the time. We spent millions on a bussing suit. The end result seems to be that now we bus all the rich kids into the poor neighborhoods and all the poor kids into the rich ones. What that is supposed to accomplish no one can explain but I'm sure that money could have been spent better. Now the suit de jour is "student assignment" oh and there is another one that just geared up between some students who were not allowed to go to a school outside of their home district and someone on the school board who was elected to represent a district that she allegedly does not live in. good times

I'm pretty glad the whole sueing as a national passtime hasn't quite reached the epidemic
proportions as it has with you.
Mind you, That's one of very few plus points about living in the UK.

We should limit the number of times people are allowed to sue other people. Like everybody gets 3 sue cards for their life. Unless you do something special, thats all you get. Maybe getting a nobel peice prize or fucking jenna jameson will get you an extra one, but only special occasions like that.

But if no one sues the schools, or McDonalds, or the Tobacco Companies, what will the poor lawyers eat? I suppose you just want them to starve to death. Heartless bastard.
