Recently I was at a friend's house for a family gathering, and as I am an honorary member of the family, I was settled back for a long and faux smiley day.
My friend's sisters both have children, and in circumstances such as these there is a need to entertain the children so the adults can drink and talk about sex. The answer is universal - a television connected to a DVD player, the most cost affective baby sitter in Christendom.
There was a little debate between the two mothers and their mother, a debate that through it's innocence struck a chord in me that resounds today. In brief:
Daughter one: "Which DVD shall we play?"
Daughter two: "Put this one in..."
Daughter one: "No, it's a bit young for Stacey"
Daughter two: "What about this?"
Daughter one: "They all watched it last Thursday"
Grandma: "What about The Wizard of Oz?"
Daughter one: "No, it's a bit old and scary for the younger ones..."
Grandma: "Oz is scary? Then why don't you put on that one where the mother dies?"
Both daughters: "Which one?"
Then it hit me; Walt Disney is into matricide.
Think about it - there are so many Disney films where the mother is conveniently pre-killed, or dies during the film. Walt hates mothers.
Finding Nemo - dead mother.
Bambi - mother. Dead.
Cinderella - the chick was an orphan, he killed the Dad off, too.
Snow White - ditto on the orphan stakes.
George of the Jungle - dead mother. Dead, dead, dead.
Spirited Away - "parents undergo a mysterious transformation" AKA DEAD.
The mother fucking list goes on...

Insane, I know the part you are talking about, actually the prince dude is getting hitched to the seahag in diguise.
It is still disputed weather or not that actually is the priest sporting wood, or if it's just the way his knees were animated. Go to http://www.snopes.com and there is whole section on Disney legends and myths. There is even a section about Walt freezing himself.
As far as WD being racisit, it's hard to say, I don't think that there are any fewer blacks, or what everelse race in his movies than there are in most of Hollywood's mainstream movies.
However, the movie "Song of the South" is no longer distributed because of the portrayal of blacks in the movie (also from http://www.snopes.com). It's too bad because there are some great stories in there and without that movie, we wouldn't have the familiar "Zipedy do Dah, Zippedy A, my, oh my, what a wonderful day."
(That song will now be stuck in the minds of all of you who read this... MMMMUUUUUUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!)

I think it's in all childrens' entertainment - the family in Skippy didn't have a mother, and Blinky Bill's parents died making him one chatty Koala orphan. I think only Australians will get this.

You know what, I was thinking about this. My first opinionated reaction was "Walt Disney is my arch-enemy, fuck this 'let the kids roam free' bullshit!" Then I thought about it for a second -maybe he knew what shitheads parents were becoming, so he pretty much said "Fuck you, you inept sack of vesicular residue!" I've always thought kids were a lot more capable than they're thought to be(in the USA, at least). Kill off their mommy, take away their daddy, let 'em get a taste of what's coming later on in life. Oh yeah!

It's true, in Walt Disney movies, the mother usually dies, and the father is usually very detached -if not entirely absent.
"Did nobody notice that Walter was a racist, facist fuck? Whilst he was alive all the films he made had NO black people except ones that were being portrayed as slaves etc."
Hold the press, folks, we have a genius. How do you have a "black"(as opposed to a "white") rabbit, motherfucker?

Ha, I think he just hates parents in general. Simba's father died in The Lion King. There's no room for adults in Walt Disney World.

There's a part on the little mermaid where you can see one of the animated charactors with a stiffy, hubba hubba. It's the priest marrying Ariel and (some guy forget his name) on a yacht.
Thats the stuff that dreams are made of

Maybe Walt's mommy molested him when he was a little boy and he just doesn't like moms now?

Do we ever see Belle's mom in beauty and the beast?, alladin's or jasmine's?.......
This is defenitely an interesting occurance. However, as Walt had been dead for sometime and had little or nothing to do with these movies I think we can just chalk it up to the fact that if they all had big happy families it would make for a dull film. Its obviously way easier to write a script where you only have to worry about one parental figure, you won't have any contradictions between them. The main characters of these movies all overcome a personal struggle but win in the end. I think the one or no parents thing is setting that up, as well as teaching kids to love the ones they've got.

Spirited Away - "parents undergo a mysterious transformation" AKA DEAD.
Spirited Away was only distributed by Disney. It wasn't made by Disney Studios. Chihiro's parents didn't die, either. They were alive at the end of the movie.
You do bring up a good point though, and in most Disney movies, a parent(s) either dies or is already dead. The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Tarzan... there are a lot of parentless children in the Disney universe.

This just proves the point that Disney Land is Hell and Walt is Satan. Who else would freeze their body just so he can be thawed out when they find a cure. Thats the work of Satan. Or some magical elves. Either way its evil. Pure evil.

Actually, in spirited away the mother did not die, and the father was also "transformed" into a pig. So.. yea, you're an idiot. Maybe it's because a lot of people would find it harder to live without a mother than a father. And in Bambi, did she even have a mother?
O noz!~ Mister Disney condones pre-marital sex, and having a child out of wedlock. what a horrible, horrible man.
