i have an addiction.

sometimes you love something so much you want it all the time

sometimes something takes a hold of you more powerful than you can ever imagine

sometimes losing yourself is the best feeling you will ever feel

sometimes there is a certain thing that makes you feel a part of something greater than one person could ever be

sometimes we do things purely for the brief moments of pure bliss and cannot give it up no matter what. nobody, no man, woman, god, or other can take it away from you

the times when i'm on stage, i close my eyes, guitars wailing on either side, drums pounding behind me, i reach another state of consciousness. another state of being. i am there, but i am not. my eyes roll back, my body and consciousness fuse with nothing more than wood and metal. i'm not even sure i'm touching the ground, but in my head i can see everything around me, i know exactly where my hands are, each finger knows it's way.

for a brief moment, i feel something more. something so beautiful words cannot describe. for a few moments, there are no worries. there is not anxiety, disapointment, fear, hate, anger, or sadness.

there is only bliss. and everything is good.

loki - thanks, i am very hapy there :) the picture inspired me to write this actually

chigirl - rawrrr!

T.chow - not to sound conceited, but i wouldn't say i'm underappreciated. i've been playing for 15 years, and i'm fortunate to be recognized around here as one of the best (at what I do), and i've been around so long there are a lot of people that grew up seeing me play, including my current drummer. the first time someone told them I inspired them to play was the greatest thing i've ever heard, i've actually had people tell me they aspire to play like me and in all honesty it felt good. despite all that, i would never go so far as to say i'm some kind of virtuoso, but i do know that i'm good at what i do, and would go so far as to say that i most definitely leave my mark. but i'll let you decide

keep in mind that those are unfinished demo tracks, we have much better (quality and performance) live tracks i have yet to find an online home for (i.e. - a free ftp server w/ hotlinking). we were VERY drunk when those were recorded (long story), and i had only been in the band for 3 weeks at that point. (btw - the band is called Bomb Brigade, since there are many mp3's on there. also check out that residuals track, that's the band i was in before my current one, and also check out those riot squad and The Staggers' tracks, that's my brother's (and some of my best friends') band. I also engineered all of the Staggers tracks save 'Dying from within'. kill by kill was produced by me, but unfortunately mixed by an incompetent moron due to time constraints, sever technical issues, and other problems. the guitar still sounds kick ass though.....I also played for them for a while when my bro left the band for a while to try and save his marriage, and fill in occaisionally from time to time. I got to play in front of thousands of people in '99 at the Warped tour in Dallas with them, it was one of the best times of my life.

otter - thanks! that means a lot to me coming from you, I have a lot of respect for your writing. and you have great taste in music, heheh. Old skool metal rules! I really want you to hear one of our newer songs actually, all of our friends call it "the Iron Maiden song". Steve Harris kicks ass, he's one of my many inspirations, and you can really see (hear?) it on that tune. We have an Iron Maiden banner hanging in our rehearsal room, lol.

bargled - that name sounds soooo familiar, but I can't place it. who be that?

and everyone else, thank you. i would say more, but I've got to go :)

+2 for this:

"sometimes you love something so much you want it all the time

sometimes there is a certain thing that makes you feel a part of something greater than one person could ever be

I found out my chick was going away on business and I won't see her for two months and reading this put my feeling towards her into perspective, there are times she has pissed me off, other times when she made me feel like crap, but then I get around her and this very feeling you expressed takes over.

I'm gonna quote you, brother.

Killer dude.

"=P"? What is this equals p we are talking about? Is that a smiley face.

You know, I used a smily in an e-mail today and boy did I feel like a douche bag.

Shit, dude. It's late. I get that same high when I write, sometimes.

Abe: I used to be `with it.' But then they changed what `it' was. Now
what I'm `with' isn't `it' and what's `it' seems weird and scary
to me. It'll happen to you.

Homer: No way, man. We're gonna keep on rockin' forever!
