Any south florida local knows of thge rock station 94.9 Zeta. (Also known as their sister station in central florida on 94.3, "Real Radio")
Their concerts are legendary, 60,000 people, huge bands, enough booze to float a small, no, large battleship. Every year, there are 3 big concerts that everyone waits for- Zeta's Bonsai, Zeta's Holloweenie Roast, and Zetafest (recently discontinued, i think?). Bands like Korn, Staind, Linkin Park, Godsmack, Panthera, Creed, Fuel and at least a hundred more I cant think of off hand are there through the course of the year. They always have the concerts in the same park- this one venue called Bayfront Park. Downtown Miami, right next to the Miami Arena (the Miami Heat's home).
This year, their 8th annual Holloweenie Roast (yep, you guessed it, holloween themed concert) was, and I'm sad to say it--- craptacular. Their regular venue was dropped, and instead the concert was held at the hole-in-the-wall-stage next door. The acustics were crap, the food/drinks were more overpriced than ever, and the Bacardi was more watered down than I had ever had at ANY concert.
There was only 1 pit, and 3 people kinda shoving each other in it. No moshing (I dont usually get in them myself, but I like to watch people beat the shit outta each other. The cops were rampant, and to boot- I'd say attendance was MAYBE 25k people. Kinda lame. Espetcially for the likes of FUEL, STAIND, SEVENDUST and SMILE EMPTY SOUL.

Let me sum this all up, concerts recently have started to suck. It's been a growing trend through all the music types, friends of mine who listen to counrty have said the same thing. And even the smaller punk shows in town have kinda gone downhill.

Is this a counrty wide epidemic? is the Mega-Multi-Band-Concert a thing of the past? Someone make me feel better- tell me this isin't just my local stations that suck.

sevendust is pretty good.
Stained and Fuel just suck (almost as much as Creed but i wouldnt go that far)

yeah, winamp on this side looks pretty close. I'm not saying the concert lineup was the best bands, i'm just saying i expected better.
Dont get me wrong, I got Garage Inc in the car, dropkick murphys (havent found too many of their fans out here, i think i'm it) in my cd drive,
oh and and DMD- "dont eat the yellow snow, where the huskies go". Zappa kicks ass.
Oh, and Zepplin... be it "immigrant song" or "the song remains the same", I KNOW what good music is, it's just they the GOOD bands KNOW florida sucks, and dont make it down this far the dick-of-the-usa-state.

Staind/Fuel/Sevendust; Ugh. I'm disgusted by this fake lineup. Any band that has the songwriter actually writing his lyrics on a piece of paper during the video isn't worth my time.

The stations here in cleveland kinda suck too. You will only find the mainstream stuff, but if you are in to that, thats cool. We have a rock station called 92.3 like the station you were talking about. I went to a free show at this little club called the grog shop once that was sponsered by 92.3 and a whole 50 people showed up.It kinda blew.
