OK those of you military might understand this a little better. But I have seen in it in the civilian world too. Why is it that a woman and a man are friends they are automatically sleeping together? Can't two people of the opposite sex be friends and enjoy each others company with out it being sexual. I just returned from a sort trip to business trip to Croatia. Where I hung out with 5 individuals, all where married but me. Two where male. We all went out and partied together and drank, and had a good time. When we returned here back to Italy. There are rumors surfacing that we had wild orgies and spent the nights in each others rooms. I am really tired of all the crap. I am in the military so I am out numbered by like 5 to 1 with men. So it's only natural that I am going to hang out with them. Plus in my job I usually one of the only females on my shift. But I get a lot of slack for hanging out and joking with the guys. I just wondered what everyone's opinion on this was.

I live right by an Army base. I know this is a broad generalization BUT a guy I dated that was in the Army said that the women are UGLY and easy because they can't get ass in the civilian world. They get so flattered when a horny, drunk guy pays them any attention, they'll do him. So maybe, just maybe, since I bet you're the exception and very cute, it's impossible to comprehend that an actual pretty military girl isn't getting banged. Ya think?

Miltary women are not sluts. I have been in for 3 years and have only slept with a small number of men that i was dating. In fact i haven't even slept with all the men that i have dated. I reserve that for a more serious relationship. There the dorm hoes and the girls that so sleep around and they give the rest of us a bad name.

women in the mil just appear to be sluts. yes(especially the AF) there are alot of sluts out there,but no more than whats in the civilian world. the only difference is (for the e-4 and below) are the dorms. dorm life can make anyone look like a slut. in the civilian world you can do someone on the other side of town and not worry about ti getting back to you. in the mil, it seems that everyone on base knows the nect day. its even worse if you are say actively dating. the one or 2 girls/guys you sleep with in a month or 2 months it really much but you come off as a whore.

When I was in the Navy, I had to travel from San Diego to Ft. Huachuca, AZ to work at a test site for a brief time. I was forced to travel with this chatterbox, chainsmoking, freaking nervous driver male E-8 who was over 40 and never married. I tried to sleep during the drive, but he would not shut up. I stayed at the female quarters; he stayed at the male quarters and I barely interacted with him during our 3 day stay. Rumors went around that I was doing him. OH RIGHT! I hate that crap. And you cannot argue the rumor, because it looks like you're covering up. It's a no-win situation.

This has happened to me three times. As soon as Im seen with smoeone noone knows or even someone they do, Im banging her. And while on a military note, im on TDY hold. I was told o could get "the call" anytime now, but then im told that im not going, then im told i am going, then it gets cancelled, then reinstated. ITs just too much BS for one weeks time.

I totally agree with you. I grew up with an older brother
and hung out with him and most of his friends which were guys.
All my girlfriends were always asking me which ones I have been
to bed with. I like hanging out with men more than women,
because a woman will stab you in the back much faster
than a male friend will.

I can't think of sex with these guys. I work with them most of them are like older brothers to me. They protect me when we go out and guys get unrulely and try to be dicks. It just gross to think of anything more.

I was at Osan that was my first duty station. It was worse there. I laugh at the girls there that think they are so hot b/c the guys are hitting on them. It's don't you get it they are hitting on you b/c there is no one else. Juices can barely speak the language so of course they guys are going to try to get with you.

I went through this alot with one of my best friends over here. I think it's because, expecially when you're away from home in an environment like that, it's more likely that you're going to throw caution to the wind. For some people this means sleeping around, and cheating on their spouses.

i know what you mean, everytime i try to hang out with a girl they end up doing something mean and catty. i get along with guys way better just in general. theres some that i end up sleeping with but my two best friends in the world are both guys, and i would never touch them. we're too close.

It's certainly possible to be friends. It can be difficult to not think of sex, however.
