Hey being Thursday and shit post Thursday at that, here's my entry. Saying that all my posts would only fit in on a Thursday.

Ok first let me say I have no interest in being with younger or older women myself, I'm spoken for, but I'd like to know what do you the decent public consider as too old or too young. I'm not talking about anything that constitutes breaking the law, this is an ethical thing.

It is a question that comes up a lot more lately, what for you is the cut off limit. My friends say it is half your age plus seven, that's the lowest you should go. So for a 30 year old this is a 22 year old. It is important to round up if you are an uneven age. Works best between the ages of 21 and 50. There are no real limits but it's just a suggestion.

The reason I ask this question is because I know some people who have been with women way younger and way older than them and I want to know 2 things. What is the biggest age gap between two people you know or have heard of and what is the cut off limit for you.

I was told about an 18-year guy kid with a 50-51 year old women
I know a 13-year-old girl who was with an 18-year-old guy.

I prefer a woman my own age or a little older. It depends on what kind of relationship we're discussing here though, and to avoid a discussion on the merits of the sub-categories of these levels I will say:

Relationship with Committment : 20-24

Anything higher or lower just conflicts with my own goals in life. I feel like this age range gives a good chance for both parties to learn a lot about themselves, life and each other without expecting too much of a committment. Its a great age to just love each other and not think too much about your future (i.e. marriage), and just take a chance to live.

Just Sex : 18 - 38

The age old trade off for freshness or experience. On one hand, you get a chance to further spoil an untainted individual assuming they are already sexually active. On the other, you get the chance to be spoiled! How naughty.... ;)

Either way, the younger the girl is in either case, the more bullshit you get. The older a woman gets the less she will screw around. She knows what she wants, how to get it, and thus its just so much better

There's my two cents.

It depends on the two people and who they are.

My dad is married to a girl six months youger than I am. They get along fabulously.

I stay within my decade, must be old enough to go to the bar, but under 30. once I hit 28, i think I might switch to 10 years older, 5 years younger. but, who knows what I'll be like in 5 years?

i am very soon to be 29 and there is no way i will date anyone below 24. i have had my wild days and gotten it out of my system. i also want a woman who has actually lived a bit and experanced life a bit as i have. however i will not date anyone over the age of 33. ideally my future mate will be my age or just a few years younger like around 26 to 30.

slyphter, whoa that's harsh, leaving town I mean. Did things get that bad over it. I know the law is a factor there but as you say some people are both mature enough in both body and mind. Sorry to hear you had to leave town man.

Yeah it is definitely true that the younger you get it is safer to stick to someone who is closer to your age as loki said 16 and 21 is a huge gap. loki I like your scale I think i'd follow that myself. if under 20 a 2 year gap either way, if 21-25 or older a 4 year gap. Beyond that is really limbo 5 years below 10-15 years above.

I'm twenty one now. My limits are eighteen for legal reasons, and twenty five, because of life goals. The largest age difference i've ever dated was 4 years. Unfortanately i was nineteen she was fifteen. She was very mature about it, (as mature as i was anyways) unfortanately the officers of the law were not. I ended up leaving town over it.

BillsSBChamps yeah 16 is too young man I agree. 17 is on thin ice but there are some really mature looking kids out there, my youngest brother is 15 yet he is 6 foot 1 and broader than me. He would pass for 19-20 easily. In fact one of my hot female friends started to come on to him when he was 14 and she was 18. Lucky fucker

I have a friend who is 24 and marrying a man who is in his early 50's. At first it was a little weird when they dated, but he is a super cool guy and acts like he is in his 20's. She's been the happiest I've ever seen her and he treats her like a queen. I'm 24 and I couldn't go any older than early 30's or any younger than 22. I've had bad experiences with younger men, not mature enough for me. To each his own though..

hmmm well it does depend on how old the subject is
Say when I was 16, there was a 2 year window, actually at 16 it would have only been a two year window older, not younger.

Then say in college, a 4 year window but for damn sure not outside of the range of college age.

There is far less difference between 25 & 30 than there is 16 & 21.

My rule of thumb: 6 years plus or minus.

Why?

I'm 26. I don't really want to be limited to where I can take my date, if shes under 21 I cant exactly take her out for a few drinks after work, now, can I?

There's far more to it than that, though.
In 6 years time, major shifts in popular culture have happened. If you meet someone, and you start talking about what you did when you were a kid, 6 years is a big difference. Voltron, GI Joe, etc came and went. When you, as a guy, were say, 12 and watching cartoons and riding your bike. she was 6. she has hardly, if any, memories of the same times you do.
you were in your teen years when Tone Loc sang "Wild Thang" and "Funky Cold Medina" and she was just playing with barbie dolls.

Now, it works the opposite direction too, someone who went through their teen years with glam rock bands like Poison, and Motley Crue is going to have a different outlook than you, who did so in the mid-90's. It's a question of a large base of things in common. I can't talk to a 20 year old and expect her to think anything like me. she wants to "party" and I want to have a comfortable italian dinner with candles and red wine in the courtyard.

I won't go anymore than two years younger than me. However, For older girls I think the 10 year rule applies.

I am 22 now and hooked up with a 15 year old over the summer. I was at a concert and she said she was 17. I have slept with a women who was 42 when I was 20, damn she was hot. I lost my virginity to a 20 year old when I was 14. I won't go over 45 or under 17 and even 17 is iffy, depends how drunk I am. I had 3 16 year olds competing for me back home and told them to call me when they are 18, I refer to them as my minor league team. I don't understand the obsession young girls have for older guys, older guys are assholes.

Whoa loki 25 years is a big gap, I see what you mean bout the not having much in common though if its over 10 years in either direction, like the difference in spending your teenage years in the 80's or spending them in the 90's. Every rule will break down though its ok at 30 to be with a 20 year old but to be 20 with a 10 year old...... whats that I hear is that your ass landing in a jail cell with a butch prison bitch who is fond of anal fisting.

I'd say no more than 10 years in either direction. Arbitrary, but it seems to me that any more than that and you'd have less and less in common.

SeaDog's parents were 25 years apart, it caused problems when he got older. Now she's in her mid 50's and a widow. This is the time when they should be traveling and doing things together but they were married for 30 years so you can't say it didn't work. Oh yea, money was a factor. They started dating when she was 18. I'm pretty sure if a 43 year old showed up at my house to pick me up for a date, my dad would have kicked his ass.

not a very shitty post dude. lol

It all happened at the beginning of that turbulent decade known as the
eighties. Those were idealistic days: the candidacy of John Anderson,
the rise of Supertramp. It was an exciting time to be young.
