I'm not going to put a disclamer at the front of this one that says something like:
I'm in an internet cafe in Berlin, and German keyboards are weird, don't harp on typos.
That being said, I'm up here in Berlin playing a memorial tribute to the WTC attacks with the NYPD Pipe and Drums and it's absolutely amazing. As much as everyone hates what we're doing right now in Iraq, we got a hell of an applause after they played 'Amazing Grace' and I played Taps. I wish I could let you know what it feels like to play alone in an arena of thousands of people all concentrated on you.
Fucking awesome.

Im amazed that there were no flames on this post. Thanks a lot for the support guys, it's starting to get way to real to know that I'll be convoying around Iraq for a year starting Januaryish.
A bus full of American musicians is a huge target for an RPG.

I hate it how murderers and rapist are safer in prison than our troops were in the front line. We've (Australia) all but pulled out of Iraq now, but best of luck to the Yanks, and we'll more than likely be there in stronger force soon enough.

I'm with Method. I listen to my Iraqi co-worker and the stories that he tells me about what life was like under Saddam's rule, and what his family, who is still in Iraq, tells him what things are actually like.
I only hate that my fellow service members are being killed.

I dont hate what were doing in Iraq. I fully support it. Most people are too ignorant to realize that were doing what were doing for our own good, whether it be for our safety, or getting oil. You wont hear anyone complaining when the gas prices go down, will you?
