I have recently been on a hiatus of sorts with my passion that is this site, and since I have been gone I must say that not a lot has changed. Surely there have been new posters who have since changed Übersite, for better or for worse, but the site has long since been helping to bring entertainment and delight to those who seek it. From someone seeking their diploma to someone seeking their doctorate, from those seeking online romance to those seeking a morning laugh with coffee at hand; Übersite is here for you.
While some people cry foul at the posters that have frequented this site with their own flair, others have found precisely what they were looking for. Some users are so intrigued by the nature of this site, they don't know what to think about the site, but rain or shine Übersite is here.
I know some of the history behind the site, but I remember Bart's description as to why things are the way they are more. While Bart certainly deserves credit for the masterpiece he has created, so does the community that fills this site with vibrant life.
A toast to the regulars who keep their electronic fingers on the pulse of the site and invigorate, arouse, or sometimes disappoint the rest of the community with their almost daily posts/responses.
A toast to the newcomer who posts a single sentence, pissing the living hell out of many, but also showing others something they should shy away from lest they be donned the leprous title of a "newbie, asshat, or sheep."
A toast to the dynamic nature of the friendships which have evolved due to this site (along with subsequent e-mailing) which has caused people gathering in real life from all expanses of the globe.
Perhaps I'm just simply delusional, but I don't see anything wrong with Übersite at all.
Then again it's Friday.
