I LOVE THE BARENAKED LADIES!
It's so nice to see a band that isn't taking the music industry so seriously! I mean, with all these Emo bands singing about issues such as romance and depression, it's good to hear some songs on the radio that are funny and entertaining!
And the lyrics are catchy too. That's what really matters at the end of the day, what are you singing in your head? Thursday's "Understanding (In a Car Crash)" or BNL's "Another Postcard." They know how to make money too. Most people like pop music. That's why it's called pop it stands for popular.
And they are singing about important topics too! Like domestic violence (The Old Apartment). Well, it might be about domestic violence. No one really knows what that, or any other BNL's songs are about, but that's cool. As long as they know what the meanings of their songs are. Well, maybe they know.
It's cool because each person can take their own personal meaning from the songs. Or you can just sit and listen to them, and not peer into the meanings at all. Sometimes I just want to listen to a song and say: "Gee, this song is so simple. Simple songs for simple people." I mean, who really has time in the fast-paced world to listen to in-depth songs anymore?
I think the Barenaked Ladies are the greatest band in the world!!! If you think different, let me know! We can have a nice conversation about it here on this wonderful forum!
Fuck. I'm a bad liar...can you tell?

+2 for BNL
According to their 2001 Greatest Hits CD, The Old Apartment isn't about domestic violence. It's the new occupants of the apartment he's intruded on.

I kind of like them. I mean, I don't have any of their cds or anything, but I kind of like them. Of course, I listen to my Milli Vanilli cd every once in a while, so I'm not exactly a movie snob.

I don't care either way so I can't really rate, but I liked the Simpsons quote!

Haha.
I used to like them when I was young. Then I associated them with a particularly distasteful man in my life.
I am now cured.
