Ring.... Ring.... Ring....
No matter how long I am here at this place it seems like I never ever get anything done. I've tried every organizational skill I've ever learned. I've all but mastered the art of delegation to my interns and there is still never enough time. Last night I was here until at least 1:30 am just to turn right back around and come in at 8:30 am today.
Ring... Ring... Ring...
We're getting ready for the holiday season here at the radio station. That means week long live broadcasts from different area malls to collect toys for the Marine Corps "Toys for Tots" campaign. That means work days that start at 3 am to make sure we're actually going to be on the air. That means coordinating the 89 different client locations in the metro area that are placing boxes in their store to help us in the collection of those toys. That means holiday themed winning weekends to appease the listeners who are out getting their shopping done and to get them "in the holiday spirit". That means collecting all aforementioned toys and delivering them to the Marines. That means not veering from the normal everyday routine of what I normally need to get done. That means starting next weekend it's... non.... stop....Christmas... MUSIC!
Ring... Ring... Ring...
Everyone is on edge around here. They are paranoid that this isn't going to come together because of her. They are worried that she is missing details. They are worried that she is lying to them once again and saying things are done that aren't really even close to being completed. They all come to me with their complaints and concerns. I always fix it. Yet when the biggest series of events we do this year comes off without a hitch who will get the credit? She will. She is my boss and that is the way that it goes. No one will remember that she promised things to their client that they never received. No one will remember that she lied right to their face about whether or not things were aired. No one will remember that I was the one who called the clients to make it better. No one will remember that I was the one who stayed all night to get the liners re-cut and create the air checks. No one will remember.
Ring... Ring... Ring...
Two people called in sick today. Not just one, two. After calling everyone else on my staff, I came to the realization that none of them are reliable or loyal and I should fire them all. After some caffeine and nicotine, I remember that most of them are college students or have other part time jobs so that is probably why they didn't answer their phones at 9:15 am... it's not because they are all plotting against me.
Ring... Ring... Ring...
I've been here for two and a half years now. I just got my raise the end of October. It was supposed to be active in December of last year. I was supposed to get a retroactive check for their mistake at the same time my raise kicked in. I got a retro check for the grand total of $47.22. She put in the date of my raise as the week before it kicked in so that is equal to one weeks worth of a raise. She is supposedly working it out with the business office to get it all "squared away". The date on that mistake check was October 23rd. Today's date is November 20th. She's a quick mover she is. I am supposed to be up for raise number 2 on December 15th. Keep your fingers crossed that I'm either not here anymore or that the bitch better have my money.

Yea... I am from Detroit. You're right - there are only 2 stations that would even play all Christmas music... and since we haven't started just yet and the other station has - that should narrow it down.
