I have absolutely no respect for any man out there who, for any reason whatsoever, feels that they have to get their kicks, revenge, or what ever by beating their wife, girlfriend, or ex. It stops now.
I just heard from a friend of mine about how this happened to her. I am not going to get into specifics, but it was bad. I know that I have no way to stop this shit from happening, but I fucking swear, on my honor, that If I have even the -slightest- way of taking care of the mother fucker that does it to ANY woman that I know or am around, I will. I will make sure that this "man" won't have hands to ever touch ANYTHING again.
Its fucking rediculous. Absolutely retarded. I won't sit here any longer and just get angry. I'm going to do something. Next mother fucker that comes around, I'm going to make him sorry that he was ever conceived. He wont ever have a sex drive again, because I'm going to cut his balls off with a rusty swiss army knife and force feed it to his ass.

I have to lean towards self defense. You rant about what this male has done to your female friend, but I can say that the shoe isn't always on that fucking foot. If you felt you were in danger, you react in the way that you eliminate that danger, and save yourself. To say that guys do not have the right to self defense is moronic, and very unfair. I have been struck by women and men and to tell you honestly, a womens kick is alot more powerful and a mans punch. I believe that adult people can resort to something less than violence to solve a problem, but if that other person be they man or woman take it to the physical level, then I'll have no problem responding in the way I see fit be it a push a grab or a fucking D.D.T. into the pavement, whatever it takes to make me safe.
Abuse is one thing, just sheer disrespect because a women thinks it's ok to hit a man and that it doesn't hurt because she's a women, that's just plain bullshit. Now, if you're friend/friends are being abused, then by all means they have every right in the world to defend themselves. One thing that I find ironic is the way you say:

Is exactly what you're saying that you'll do....now let me highlight the glaring inconsistancy :REVENGE:
Got that...aren't you doing the same thing that you wrote about? If your friends did nothing to deserve this treatment, fine, let'im pack thier shit and leave, or call the cops, or something! Reacting the way that you say you will does nothing to remedy the situation, if fact it only takes you away from these friends that may need you after getting abused. I have seen women smack men and get away with it far more I think than men smacking women and getting away with it. I've seen men jailed because they have been lied upon to the cops by women seeking revenge. React this way if you will, it is your right, as is his right to respond to your violence in kind.

Here's the thing. I understand the sentiment and you are correct. There is no excuse whatsoever to another person except in self defense. If you can't settle your disputes like adults then you have real issues. I can't even imagine the sick, twisted set of circumstances that would involve me and SeaDog in an actual fistfight - jesus fucking christ what is wrong with you people?
What you did wrong here was come at it with threats and essentially just spew some emotional crap that offended everyone. No one is advocating domestic violence, well maybe the Taliban, but no one else. You just got too emotional and ended up pissing everyone off.
They are acting like children though and it's uncalled for. Obviously you are upset about something that happened and got emotional. I've stayed out of this until now for that reason, but I think it's time to call off the dogs now.

I agree that behaviour like this is unacceptable. He should definitely be dealt
with by the police. Anyone who abuses or takes advantage of other people in any
way needs to be knocked down a few notches. But fighting fire with fire rarely
causing anything to stop burning.

You know, I completely agree with you. Maybe I didn't make that known before, I dunno. I don't think anyone should be beating on anyone. I think it's great you have compassion toward your friend that went through this. Your friend will undoubtedly need you to get through this time. Being a good friend is probably the best thing you can do.
Regarding the abuser, I wouldn't waste the emotion or the energy thinking about him or plotting his revenge. If your friend has pressed charges, hopefully justice will be served. Wait on that. If it's not, then kick his ass.
Just make sure you give your friend lots of support and lots of hugs.

I'm not jumping through hoops to convince men to treat women equally, on the contrary, I long to shed my femininity in order to avoid the unprovked remarks I am subject to as a resuly of being a woman. Men are, for the most part, physichally stronger than women. I do not advocate physichal violence in any way, ever, be the offender male or female. However, if a woman is being stupid and hitting or attempting to hit a man, it's a lot easier for a man to pin her arms down or otherwise immobilize her nonviolently than it is for a woman to do so with a man.

abuse is f*cked up; no-one deserves to be abused. i agree that men who abuse women should be castrated. I've never taken a swing at anyone, and no-one's ever taken a swing (touch wood) at me in any aggressive way.
but, if someone was to take a swing at me, i'm sure as hell going to swing back. male, female, animal, vegetable, mineral ... it matters not. there's no reason to swing at nyone, apart for self-defense.
In my contact-sport days, a team ethos i remember was "Don't start throwing punches. But if they start swinging, finish it."
So basically, If someone swings at you first, it's on. I've no problems with that, and can't see how anyone could really disagree.
Sorry to say this Apathesia, but you seem to be over-emotional because of your proximity to the victim. would you have posted if you'd read about it happening to some random person in the newspaper?? i think it's only that it happened to a friend of yours that you got all riled.

I agree, no man should ever hit a woman, with the exception of one situation: She is weilding a weapon and meaning to kill him (or otherwise do serious damage) and striking her is his only recourse. Even then, it is only acceptable if he has no other way of disarming her.
Mox, if she did all that, he should dump her. Physichal assult on a woman is unacceptable barring the situation described above. To say a woman "needs to be hit" for *any* reason is cowardly and an insult to abused women everywhere.
