I am a relative newb to the Uber world but have already noticed that many have jumped on the 'Translator Band Wagon'. For those of you who have been lucky enough to avoid these posts/responses I'll give you a brief description and you can judge it's level of 'moron-dom' (a Scotism).
There has been, for quite some time, a tendency for people to shorten certain words in their posts; u, ur, lol, r etc. This is difficult enough to sift through, although I appreciate the fact that by quickly scanning the post for said short-forms I know if it's worth reading, it's like the Scarlet Letter for simpletons (also a long overdue idea). However, it is not with these morons that I take issue today, trust your day will come, but today it's the heathens that think cutting and pasting someone else's post into a translator, pressing the 'make me look stupid' key on their keyboard and re-submitting it as a rating. Why? why, why, why? Am I so far out of touch with what's considered quick-witted that I don't recognize the genius of this, or is there a rampant case of the stupids going around? What is your motivation for this kind of internet graffiti? And who the fuck invented this translator, for what purpose? The existence of these translators are as offensive as 3x spandex shorts!!! The fact that you wished that something like this could be created already secured you a place in the 'cretin hall of fame', the fact that you have the technical skill to create it not withstanding (Go DeVry Institute!).
I leave you with a freshly coined term for those who wish to continue this asinine pusuit...use it liberally.
CHIMP + SIMPLETON = CHIMPLETON - noun - chim-p&l-t&n - the minute evolutionary space between primates and the lowest level of allowable 'human' intelligence.
