CIVIC PRIDE
I feel very strongly against any form of civic pride, including, and not limited to, school pride. I have always disliked any type of school pride, especially that in the form of the ASSEMBLY. Oh yes, the dreaded assembly, the gallimaufry of morons, dolts, losers, posers, skids, scuds, druggies, brains, and those unfortunate enough to not get called out.
-One thing I might add, though, is that I have always enjoyed the essence of assemblies, because I truly enjoy losing my hearing to the blaring PA system, losing my vision to the garbage not worthy of dancing (in my school's case, the VIKETTES), and losing any coherent thought as my soul is slowly sucked out of my body and stomped on by the over-ecstatic school mascot...that bastard. In case you can't tell, I LOATHE assemblies; I absolutely repudiate them.
Assemblies are the doppelgangers of concerts i.e. where concerts are loud and enjoyable, assemblies are loud and benighted. The very fact that a large crowd of people are crammed into an old gymnasium--with bleachers so rickety that I just pray they will collapse on me so I can be alleviated of the mental pain I suffer during the assemblies—and then forced to listen to the garbage about how our school will boast a record of one win to twenty losses, IF we win the big game tonight, sickens me. I hate school, I hate sports, and I hate school pride.
If I was ever given a choice between death and an assembly, I would choose the slowest and most painful death over an hour of mental retardation. I would rather have my penis be scalpeled by a drunken mule with hepatitis C, than face an hour of brainwashing and bullshit propaganda. I would rather have my face stabbed with a blunt tin of tuna, over and over, than ever dare watch the monotonous privation of human brain cells.
I hate school assemblies almost as much as I hate reading Toni Morrison and her racist, Anti-Semitic, Feminazi garbage....in fact, I would rather have sex with that evil witch than go to another school assembly.

I can't skip them. While our Fine Arts Programs are losing money fast, our security is being buffed up, JUST SO THAT WE CAN'T ESCAPE from the god-damned assemblies. If i could leave, i would, and this post would not be up here.

I agree that assemblies suck, especially pep rallies. There's nothing worse than being in the marching band and having to play music for a school that's been shortchanging your group.

Assemblies are terrible because they expect you to express one opinion, and that opinion happens to conflict with mine. They teachers or deans who run the assembly will always try to rally you with terrible lies and propaganda about the school that i happen to detest. That was OK. I hate rallies and assemblies too. Perhaps you should concentrate more on making some good points which support your hate for assemblies though. Don't just say a bunch of things you would rather do than go to them. That gets boring.
