Well I'm normally one for animal rights but what the hell is PETA up to? Heres what (in case you haven't heard): they're trying to traumatize kids into believing that their moms are personally brutally killing little "doggies and kitties." Isn't this supposed to be some serious organization? Because it really sounds like a joke to me. Anyways, after this I hope they die of an unfortunate cheese grading accident or accidental drive by shooting. Bastards.

I stary worrying about the ethical treatment of animals after we start worrying about the ethical treatment of people.

Well, I did some reading at the site, got some contact info and started typing a professional-looking email expressing my concerns. After I waste my time, I get slammed with an automatic reply; obviously they predicted that people would be pissed and cranked out an explanation to be sent if their filters detected some keywords pertaining to the campaign (likely being 'chldren', 'propaganda' and 'trauma').
It turns out that PETA is handing out the pamphlets only to children 13 or older, and even then, they're giving the pamphlets to the mothers, not the kids.
I sent another email essentially calling them jerks for omitting that information from the site and making me waste my time. I suggested in a very... unprofessional way that they put it on the website.

PETA is kind of like communism.
Good in theory, bad in practice.

I can respect people who have a serious jones for animal rights, and go through legal channels to affect change. I mean, that's what this country is supposed to be about, the people's voice beind heard, yaddah yaddah. However, I can't get behind ANYONE who would deliberately traumatize kids using blatant scare tactics. Some of those fringe animal rights groups are no better than terrorists, bombing research facilities, killing scientists, etc.
People are idiots, I swear.

That is fucking hilarious, but is anyone REALLY going to a PETA sponsored event wearing fur? If so, it's likely FAUX fur.
As for Ethical Treatment of Animals? I really don't think forcing them to parade around in costume is too ethical, now is it?
How about People for the Ethical Treatment of Children? The pamphlet is propaganda at it's worst, showing CHILDREN the flayed corpses of woodland creatures. Real great, PETA. You've lost alot of credibility from me.
