I believe it's an inherent trait for women to be snoops.
Or, it could just be a trait of mine, and to make myself feel better, I think all women do it... whatever.
Anyway.
When I first found the wonder that is called Google, I spent hours searching for every name I could think of. My friends, my ex's, my old teachers, hey, I even searched my dogs name. When I thought I had run out of people I knew (or, people I had heard of at some point, or.. people that I thought might exist), I'd sit in front of my computer, fingers resting on the Home Row, and stare at my screen.
Who else? Oh, I forgot to look up my old Priest!
This went on for weeks (with intermittent breaks for working and eating).
Then I just googled when I met someone new.
So tell me, why was I so surprised when I was talking to some random guy online, and out of nowhere he used my first name?
"What?"
"I said... thank you Corinne."
(then I try to be sneaky) "What makes you think that's my name?"
"well, I googled corn_nugget78, and I found your website"
What? I never thought to google MYSELF?!
Do you people KNOW how much information is out there? Probably. I'm usually the last to find out.
Thanks a lot, people.
Although I thought it was quite cool that an author I had written used my letter on his page. Man I'm cool.
