Hi, I'm Tak. I'm user 4067.
I wish I could have been here when user numbers went no farther than 500. I wish I had found this site when no one knew about it. I wish Ubersite had a way to clean itself of the dirt that has been smeared across its pretty face since it acquired its notoriety.
I believe that this site was once filled with people who care about writing. Be it fiction, non-fiction, humorous anecdotes or political views.
I believe that the world is filled with mongoloids. I know that these same mongoloids rather enjoy finding something that other people consider worthwhile and scarring it by going against the grain.
They think it's funny. To them, it is the height of humor. It is poking fun at the chess club, or calling the kid with a severe case of acne "Pizza Face". Such is the essence of ignorance. Correct?
Every user that makes a name after #2000 is either a retard with a spelling disability or an existing user making a new name in order to flame and/or post things to only further infuriate those of us who care for what this site is all about. Correct?
I am user number 4067, and I implore you to reconsider.
While driving down the road, any road, you will undoubtedly encounter a number of people who will infuriate you. They will pull out in front of you, or take too damn long getting over into the turning lane.
Then there will be the few who are courteous. The few remaining who will back up traffic in order to allow you to make your turn on a busy road. The man/woman who kindly gets over into the traveling lane on the highway when you come up on them in the passing lane.
Other examples abound.
I am saying all this to posit the idea that not all users of a certain number are Squattails or KoolMangs or JesusChrists' or any other lame ass name they may use. I'm not going to name any names; I'm not going to point any fingers towards members who can back this statement up. Take me for example. My writing is not the best in the world, I'll be the first to tell you that. As a matter of fact, some of it is utter shit. But the point I am trying to make is that I care about the ideal this site is built around.
I care about writing.
I care about reading.
I care about people coming together to celebrate the joys of both recreations.
And I ask all of you, all who are Uber, to take the chance on a new user. Be it #4067, or #8067. Read what they write. If you read two posts that make your eyes bleed and your brain lock up like an engine being fed sugar and bleach, then yes, they are fuckhats, they are useless, they are not worthy of your time.
But don't block out potential Uberusers because of other UberFucks.
Believe it or not, some of us don't deserve it.

I'm a fellow 4000+ user. I think between the number 4000 and 6000, Ubersite has gotten about 8 people that will stay around and something to give to this site.. myself included along with Tak, amusediniraq, and a few select others.

Going throught the growing pains right now, #5030.
When I found uber I saw all the shit and thought it wa full of shit, I have sense come to recognize that it is not the intent at all. I am now spending the time working at a hobby I have always wanted to try my hand at. I have about one more month of internest access and I challenged myself to write something worth reading everyday. I am making in-roads, we'll see what happens.

Batsu - You posted 7 steaming piles of shit yesterday. The only one without a negative rating didn't get any responses at all. Somehow I don't think it's just user 4067 who thinks you suck.
The thing is, it's not about the actual user number. It's more of an observation that the more recent numbers are generally rife with idiots. I've been posting here since August and I'm just now starting to register on most people's radar. It's a slow process for most, but with enough time and patience people will appreciate your writing.
Stick around and force people to read your stuff. People won't want to read what you write until they know what you're capable of. Unfortunately that means they're going to over look your posts for a long time. Wait them out. I like what I've seen from you so far, don't give up.

Ingsoc, my comment on 2000+ users being retards was supposed to be taken as sarcasm.
What I was implying was that no user is retarded until proven so. That was the whole point of this post.
Since posting this I have realized that maybe I should just shut the fuck up and prove what I'm trying to say through my writing. Which is what I intend to do.
MadJesterVince, I'm not patronizing anyone, I wrote this post wholly to put across a point I felt needed to be posted. If I make you or others look bad by doing so I'm sorry. That was not my intention.
SpikeGoddess, thank you. I will try to stretch out my patience. This post was brought on mainly by reading so many shit posts by users mostly over 4000 and the replys they recieved containing criticism for anyone new.

I agree with you, but I also urge patience.
I'm proof that users over 2000 *will* be given consideration if they stick around long enough. If a feminist hippie like me can become established here, anyone can. And look at Jonuka---he showed up after I did and is not only all over the radar, but he's on the Most Viewed list as well!
People will catch on and you'll reach your audience. Just realize that with Uber as with most things, what is flashy and popular is just as likely to be smut as good stuff, and that a lot of really solid material will be under the radar to be enjoyed by a smaller group of loyal followers.
You're already finding a niche. It will only grow with time. There are a number of other really great Nubers who're in the 4000's, and I personally make it a point to reserve judgement until someone proves themself to me--one way or another.
I for one think you're a great addition to Uber.

I agree with some of your points, but being a 2600 series, I resent your idea that I'm either a retard or clone of an existent user (the latter being more true than the former).
