I'm not sure if this is a nationwide phenomena or just some localized bullshit that we here in the MidWest have to deal with. I am talking about the Captain D's commercials. For those of you who are lucky enough to not have a Captain D's, it's a fast-food fish place.
My problem with Captain D's is the fucking commercials they put out. They apparently think it's a good marketing tactic to annoy the fuck out of people with commercials featuring genetic rejects contorting their hideous faces and saying inane things about spicy fish dishes. I'm sick of listening to old women confide about their cravings for "zippy" dishes. I'm sick of that redheaded chick threatinging fish with her carving knife. And I'm sick of their annoying "flavoriety" slogan. What the fuck is "flavoriety" supposed to mean, anyway? That's not even a word! Nor is it cute, creative, or original. It's fucking stupid, in my opinion.
I'm not sure what they were hoping this ad-campaign would inspire, but it has led me and many of my friends to give the finger to each Captain D's restaurant we pass on the highway.
I guess this is more a testament to our current quality of education in this country. I mean, if this is what marketing graduates think will sell fish, god help us all.
Put a stop to it. This is almost worse than those stupid colgate commercials. When will this torture end? It's almost worth giving up the Simpsons for... anything to ensure that I will never have to sit through another inhumane commercial break.
