I loves me up some poor grammar.

We face tsunamis of bullshit every day of our lives.

This onslaught of fecal matter is suffocating us.

However, there are some things that make our lives of crippling
alienation and doubt worthwile.

These things are the Rulingnest.

Here's some:

( Post some in the thread, too )

-Kurt Vonnegut books, especially Breakfast of Champions ( MAXIMUM RULAGE )

-Beatles albums Revolver and Sgt. Pepper ( amazing )

-Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy books ( Hilarious, great perspectives on EVERYTHING )

-ACDC ( Most underrated band EVER, simply the shit )

-Jimi Hendrix ( best guitarist ever, hands down )

-Sex ( best recreational activity )

-The Who ( Pinball Wizard owns )

-The Clash ( great )

-Halo for Xbox ( best video game ever )

-Full Metal Jacket ( best war movie ever )

-Cerebus comics by Dave Sim ( best comics ever, Sim is a fucking nutcase )

- Final Fantasy VII ( second best video game ever )

- Maddox ( flame away, still best ranter ever )

- Iron Monkey ( best kung-fu movie ever )

- Gamera 3: Revenge of Iris ( best fucking monster movie EVER! seriously, watch it now! )

-Rotten.com LIBRARY ( I'm serious. Best information source anywhere. Has info on EVERYTHING )

-Army of Darkness ( great )

- Evangelion ( mind-blowing )

-Dogma ( Kevin Smith's best movie )

- Bach ( best classical composer )

- Beethoven ( second best classical composer )

- Calpico Water ( best soft drink ever )

..........i can't think of anything else off the top of my head........

......I'll probably think of more soon........

Suggestions?

I fucking love the www.rotten.com library.

It's my constant source of study.

'Transmetropolitan' was done by Warren Ellis, who also does 'Planetary.' I get the trades from my comic book guy and, while I don't always agree with the philosophical point of view expressed, it is pretty damn good.

No way! The best Kung Fu movie ever is the original Drunken Master (the 1977 version not the later crappier one). Drunken Kung Fu owns.

-Kurt Vonnegut books, especially Breakfast of Champions ( MAXIMUM RULAGE )

Kurt is an excellent author and brings about a completely new perspective in which to view the world. 'Harrison Burgeron' is my favorite short story of his.

-ACDC ( Most underrated band EVER, simply the shit )

AC/DC is an excellent band, as to whether or not they are underrated is actually a matter of opinion. My only problem with AC/DC is they have one chord that is exactly the same in every song, along with the drum beat.

-Jimi Hendrix ( best guitarist ever, hands down )

Agreed. I don't know how you could say he used newer technology. He played a right-handed Fender guitar, and he was left-handed. He heard sounds in his head and made it into music.

-Halo for Xbox ( best video game ever )

Best. Console. Game. Ever. There are quite a few PC games that are astonishingly better, seeing as how PC's can run higher-end games than an Xbox due to their consistant increase in power and technology. Half-Life 2 and Doom III will definitely be the best games. EVER.

-Full Metal Jacket ( best war movie ever )

"Schindler's List" is one of the best movies that took place during a war, although I'm not sure if you'd call it a 'war movie'. "Full Metal Jacket" was also a good movie but I felt it was overrated and didn't capture the realistic aspect of the Vietnam War. "Patton" is my favorite war movie, ever.

-Cerebus comics by Dave Sim ( best comics ever, Sim is a fucking nutcase )

I never was a very big comic book fan, but I did enjoy the "GI Joe" ones when I was little.

- Final Fantasy VII ( second best video game ever )

I've never played a 'Final Fantasy' game in my life. Probably because I was judging the game simply by the fact I thought you could not have more than one 'final fantasy'. Max Payne 1 and 2 are a couple of my favorite video games, if not for the gameplay, but due mostly in part by the engrossing storyline. You're playing a movie.

- Maddox ( flame away, still best ranter ever )

I'm going to have to agree on Leary or Miller. Miller should get it because he indeed doesn't want to go on rants but does nonetheless, but Leary his astonishingly funny when he starts screaming and freaks out. He's not so much a comedian as he is, truly, an asshole, one which gains attention and praise for being one. He's a funny man though.

- Gamera 3: Revenge of Iris ( best fucking monster movie EVER! seriously, watch it now! )

My favorite horror movie was "The Seven Gates of Hell". It is an old Italian horror film, but probably one of the most well-rounded horror movies. Gory and graphic, but probably considered a B-Horror movie.

-Army of Darkness ( great )

The movie made Bruce Campbell an icon

-Dogma ( Kevin Smith's best movie )

"Mall Rats" is still my favorite. "Dogma" had the all-star cast and the awesome ending, but still doesn't reach number one.

- Bach ( best classical composer )

Tchaikovsky is my favorite but Bach reigns in at number two. It's a shame to toss Motzart and Beethoven aside, but that's just my own personal preferance.

- Calpico Water ( best soft drink ever )

Twister fruit drinks are the best concoctions ever concieved by man.

Gimme some examples, fabish.

By the way, Quartermain, does Garth Ennis do Transmetropolitan? Cause
that rules.

**Kurt Vonnegut books, especially Breakfast of Champions ( MAXIMUM RULAGE )**

Admitting this will probably get me thrown out of the pretentious intellectuals union, but Vonnegut never really stoked my boiler. Did like 'Harrison Bergeron' though.

**-ACDC ( Most underrated band EVER, simply the shit)**

I always liked them. You know who else is underrated? The Doors.

-Full Metal Jacket ( best war movie ever )

I have to disagree here. Best war movie: Either 'Sands of Iwo Jima' with John Wayne or 'Heartbreak Ridge' with Clint Eastwood.

**Cerebus comics by Dave Sim ( best comics ever, Sim is a fucking nutcase )**

You know who else is good? Garth Ennis. Him and Warren Ellis and Brian Michael Bendis.

**Maddox ( flame away, still best ranter ever )**

Denis Leary is the best ranter. Either him or Dennis Miller.

**Iron Monkey ( best kung-fu movie ever )**

I saw this and I laughed my ass off through the entire thing. Good movie.

**Army of Darkness ( great )**

Hail to the King, baby.

**Bach ( best classical composer ) Beethoven ( second best classical composer )**

Now, see I would have put Beethoven in first and then maybe Handel or Tchaikovsky. But Bacj would definitely be on the list.

Ok, sure. But Jimi Hendrix wasn't the best guitarist of all time. He had access to instruments very few artists of the day had access to. He is no doubt, the patron saint of guitar playing, but saying he is the best? He brought guitar playing to a level no one else had dont before and this is good, but look at people like Van Halen, who brought the instrument to a new level technically, after Jimi Hendrix. Zakk Wylde succinctly put it when he said Jimi was much like Babe Ruth, he was the Babe, but not the best. This leads me to question your judgement on many of the above topics. I gave you a positive rating because I may misconstrue your intent in this article. And I agree with most everything anyway.

I agree with a lot of this, but the ones I disagree with, I just happen to disagree very strongly.
