Ah, Toledo. The poor man's Detroit. Home of Jamie Farr and Katie Holmes' nice rack. Sounds like a nice place to live doesn't it? Well I'm here to tell you, forget everything Corporal Klinger ever said about the Mud Hens. Forget(if you can) about Katie Holmes' C-Cups. I'm here to tell you that I have got to be living in one of the dumbest cities in America, outside of California that is. There's no way anyone in this state is as dumb as the people who elected Arnold Freaking Schwartzenagger as their governor.
Some of you guys might have read this post I put up a while ago about the Patriot Act:

Basically what happened was that one of our city council members was thrown out of a public building for trying to protest the Patriot Act. Apparently this city is exempt from those nasty little things called "Amendments" in the Constitution.
It that's not dumb enough, we now have a smoking ban not only in restaurants, but also every single bar! What the fuck is that all about? No one ever forced a non-smoker to go into a smoke-filled bar. If someone gets caught smoking in a bar now, not only are they fined $100 bucks, but the owner gets fined and has to take some bullshit smoking awareness class that runs about $600(and yes they do send out police officers regularly to enforce this law). Since when was it mandatory that every person must spend a significant amount of time in a bar? I don't even smoke and I still think this is ridiculous. This law wasn't even presented to the people to vote on. Basically city council (all of about 5 people) just decided one day to ban it outright.
I'm not even getting into the whole on-going movement to shut down all the titty-bars in town. Where the hell is Katie Holmes going to work when her "career" is over in about, oh, 5 months?

I live in Toledo as well...it sucks.

I think smokes generally run around $4.50 a pack around here.
I went to school at BGSU, so trust me, I know the bars down there quite well.

Agreed, my friends and I refuse to go to To-le-do now. It seems that the no-smoking nazi are gaining power in the swampland. Try going to B.G., they still have some good bars.

Ohio does rule, sort of. It usually depends on what part of town you're in. There are plenty of bars and stuff like that, but they're all spread out on the edge of town.
By the way, Buckeyes rule.

Ohio rules. Toledo doesn't. I once went there for a weekend and there was nobody around. It was like a ghost city. Can anybody explain?
