first of all, id like to give a big 'what the fuck?' to this whole 'email verification' thing. im sure its great, and itll save me from venerial disease, whilst also ensuring that i have a much larger "man steakxtcq", but what is up with it? meh, anyways ill continue.

junkies.

a horrible word.

a word i have had a fair amount of vicarious association with, over the years.

a horrible word, but often unfortunately applicable.

in my humble opinion, drugs are an escape. whether that escape be some bricklayer going to the pub at the end of a fucking hard days work for a few hours of liver-rending alcholic bliss, or some random person enjoying a few cones back in the comfort of their own home to get away from the stress and bullshit of the average day; or, more applicably for this rant, the someones who want to just fucking unplug completely from this reality, just get away from the darkness and bullshit and experience what seems to be true happiness, however transient and ultimately hollow. check right the fuck outta this roadside motel and keep trucking on down the road to see whats up in the next town.

anyway you look at it, drugs are an escape of one sort or another.

which brings me to nicole richie.

who the fuck is nicole richie? you may ask. until this afternoon, so would have i. but i read up on her. not much of a read-up, but just enough to churn up some serious ill-will with which to launch an ill informed tirade about her and her life choices, even though i really know nothing about her, or her life. but im not the type to let correct sources and reliable information stand in the way of a value judgement. hell hath no fury like a miffed internet geek. raaaahhhhh!

moving on, nicole richie, for the socially inept, is the daughter of lionel richie, co-star of the new tv show "the simple life" with her vastly more famous friend, the detestable paris hilton. my rant specifically about nicole, is about her addiction, on mulitple occaisions to heroin. possibly the (rightfully so) most maligned drug in the world, heroin is a scourge upon mankind. it offers its victims supposed nirvana, albeit temporary, whilst inflicting upon them an addiction so strong that the poor fool will often go to any lengths to satiate his or her need. heroin is the ultimate of escapes, it takes you out of the frying pan, like nothing else, but it puts you in a fire so hungry, itll burn your soul. people (and yes, im making a huge generalisation here) turn to heroin to concertedly get themselves away from the world, to live in a world of euphoric highs. the abysmal lows are merely part of the cost.

my problem here, is what exactly the fuck nicole richie is trying to escape from? she is the child of a rich and famous musician, hence instantly cool, as well as being wealthy. she, being cool gets to hang out at all the a-list events, she is best friends with one of the most famous (or should that be infamous) women on the planet. the world is at her feet, indeed, the world is licking the scum off her bootheels. she is rich, cool, famous, (reasonably) attractive, and yet this huge world of privelege is not enough for her, she has to go and try and fuck it all up by shoving shit up her arm. but its not like she ever could really fuck it all up, shes rich and famous. this is the biggest insult. she cannot suffer the consequences that average joe junkie will. she will have safety net after safety net placed beneath her to protect from ever experiencing the consequenes that others will. its just completely fucking ufair, its like gambling with someone elses money, who cares if you lose?

i think that this is yet another indicative symptom with what the fuck is wrong with our society - there are too many (and increasing in number) people who can do, say and act how they like without ever having to face any real consequences. if i were to lose my job and miss a weeks pay i would be on the street. yet this fucking useless bimbo is able to commit fuckup after fuckup ad infinitum without ever suffering any lasting effect. in fact, she gets a fucking tv show which highlights her ivory-tower lifestyle, by placing her and her equally out-of-touch friend in a home with regular peons to try and 'subsist' on an honest mans wage. fucking whores.

im no class worrior, but goddamn, sometimes you just have to stand back and notice that this is just completely fucked up. many people on this site have more talent in the grime uner their fingernails than both of these two combined (paris hilton, despite her vast experience, seems like a shithouse fuck to me), and yet they get tv shows because they happened to have been fortunate enough to be pushed out from between the 'right' pair of legs, yeah thats the way life goes, but youd think that they could just step back for a second and appreciate just what their predecessors did for them, that they feel justified in squandering their infinite opportunites so readily.

is a person who robs their own mothers goods to pay for a mind-destroying addiction any more of a junkie than someone who squnders a universe of possibility, merely to experience yet another high, in a lifetime of unending highs?

a junkie is a junkie is a junkie.

gimmie a few days, and i might just get started on what i think of women, again...

I say made me smile, but it didn't, it made me think. I am a heroin addict and I have benefited from times when I have had no safety net, I have HAD to pick myself up and deal with life, whereas she will never have that pleasure. She will never be forced into making a life for herself and that is probably the saddest thing in the world...her parents can give her the world, but all they need to do is let go of her and she will have her life back! With their continuing help then she will continue to suffer...God help her, and her poor parents!

I feel pity for the person who suffers no consequence. They know nothing because to learn, you have to make mistakes and endure the consequences, ultimately becoming a wiser, happier, and more enlightened person. That's what living is. Without the privaledge to be able to make consequences you are forever stuck in an adolescent mind set. Hearing about people like this makes me shake my head and think about how they probably won't ever be as successful in life as I am with no net.

She probably wouldnt be able to read it. There are quite a few larger-than-6-letter words in here.

"...but youd think that they could just step back for a second and appreciate just what their predecessors did for them..."

I remember when Paris' little porno tape came out, it was all over the news like it was Saddam fucking her. They had her parents doing some sort of press conference and they were all crying "W-Why Why wont you just leave her alone? Whimper whimper whine whine whine." Her daddy made some umpteen bagillion dollars, and as an effect of that she pretty much gets to do whatever she wants, which means ruining HIS name and he doesnt really give a rats ass. If it was me, I'd be whoppin some ass. I'm sure the same goes for the other broad.

Wow.

I have always been a bit bothered by the whole legacy class. The trend I have seen is that you have the first generation who builds a business. The second generation sees the mistakes and successes of the first generation and takes a business to the next level. The third generation is born into a world of wealth and privilege. At some point along the line, there is a moment when they feel like the world in which they live is somehow their right, that they've somehow earned it by being born in the right time to the right people. That is the generation that is everything wrong about this country. cough dubbya cough

I did a paper on the M&M Mars company in school. The current generation is so completely unequipped to run the company that it's a real problem. Out of something like 13 "kids" not one of them has any interest in it. You would think that at least one of them would be motivated by power, but apparently not.

Think about it this way, if you won the lottery - would you work?

Well, the one thing that gives me peace is the fact that in all likelyhood, she will die from this addiction. Recovered Heroin Addicts are few and far between, and she has never had to deal with anything requiring willpower before. I am sure in a few years, after she gets some wrinkles, all the veins in her arms and legs collapse, and she gets legions from overused injections sites getting infected, we will hear of her demise from an overdose. Don't worry iddqd, she is one to be pitied. I'd take my clean life over her heroin controlled wanderings anyday.

I couldn't read too much of this. Not because it's not good, but because it's the "Requiem for a dream" kind of good. Like I should read it, but mainly for eduacations' sake.

i used to get high for days with a brother and sister who are wealthy beyond belief. they shot smack with the same enthusiasm as a street junkie(ive got high for days with them too).

we all have a hard way to go through this life. EVERYONE. and sometimes having alot of money is the burden.

money is not a cure all.

once again you have inspired me id.

I think it has to do with the privelged simply wanting more. She already has everything, so she becomes bored, and what happens when someone becomes bored, but his or her mind turns to vices. Hell, Uber is my heroin.
