Why I Don't Hate Ubersite (814 hits)

I like Ubersite. Hell, I really like Ubersite. You could even say I... love Ubersite. I enjoy it so much because Ubersite is simply better than all other websites. It's based on what shouldn't be a revolutionary concept- but Ubersite is still the only example of it. The free exchange of ideas, the freedom to say and to think and to Photoshop, and to use nouns as verbs. Verbing weirds language. Photoshopping weirds pictures. Language and pictures make Ubersite cooler than other websites.
Other websites, many will say, are equal or greater in quality than Ubersite. But anyone who has stayed long enough to keep coming back should know this is not the case. People will say that Maddox is superior to Ubersite, but consider this- Maddox is just one man, Ubersite is more than five thousand people from varying age groups and backgrounds. The best thing is, the cream will inevitably rise to the top to seperate itself from the less enjoyable milk body. The bad will leave, the good will stay. And if the bad do stay, the good have a common enemy against which they can hurl -2s. The system works.
In many ways the arrival of the 5000+ users is a good thing. I can see the level of quality at which other users post much better now that there is a steadier and greater flow of crap. But I believe that within these new arrivals there will be great writers, perhaps one of such a caliber to topple Bart off the #1 Most Viewed Authors spot. The arrival of the 3000+ users elicited groans of frustration from many, myself included. But a good deal of them have left, never to be heard from again, whereas Jonukah arrived on the Most Viewed List in record time, and others may soon follow. There are diamonds in the rough, and they will make their presence known, all in good time.
It's the fact that the caste system can be broken, and the fact that any user can make a name for themself if they put their mind to it, that makes Ubersite a truly valuable experience. I am proud to be user 2652, just as proud as I would be if I were user 2, user 5304 or user 10607. It's not in the number, it's in the user. And as long as Ubersite continues to exist, I will be proudest not of my user number, but of the fact that I am a part of Ubersite, and the fact that the future is indeed Uber.

I have that same Albert Einstein picture hanging in my room. Does anyone else find themselves liking Uber so much that they rate everything else while offline? Like movies, loud talking pedestrians, etc? Maybe I'm just sick.
