When i awoke this morning, i was feeling kind of bland,
Dark circles beneath my eyes, grease burns cover my hands,
10 digits in all, but each bruised, callused, and cut,
Bleeding so much, i can't get this suitcase shut,
So still i remain, a slave contained by constant toil,
Fighting 8 hour battles to separate porcelain from oil,
Barely earning enough cash to create my own heart attack, no tips,
Trying to get these bags packed to turn my back on all of this,
Just attempts to make tracks away from this town, this cold cement slab,
Now that soap and steel wool have turned once beautiful colors drab,
It's the steam burns that has pulled the vibrance from their fabrics,
Like the will from myself, as i fall asleep watching static,
If only my day's hourglass had a little more sand,
Because an extra $8.15 might help me cope with this land,
I understand where want to stand, and it's on my own two feet,
But i'm just one man, so why should management care if i'm able to eat?
If only i could have hit that A, that F#, that Gmin7,
If my chords just would have formed, might i have gone to heaven?
Even if, they didn't, and i guess it's all as well,
You always wake at 6:00, when you live in dish pit hell.

I did that for awhile when I was fourteen..they hired me illegally...had me work shitty hours..I always smelled like kitchen grease..then they wouldn't pay me...and I never did anything about it..fuckers! goddammit! Rise up!

I liked this, Zeccs. There was an old rule for writing poetry that said, no matter what style you're writing in, make every single line interesting.
