Just like I said before. New England Patriots, Superbowl Champs, 2004. Twice in three years, we are a DYNASTY!!! Sorry Panthers fans, you gave us a GOOD run for our money, but in the end Adam Vinatieri came through and did what he does best, won us the game. Better luck next year suckers.

Dynasty? You're confusing your team with the New York Yankees, Chicago Bulls, L.A. Lakers, etc.
Winning two championships in three years is NOT a dynasty. Then again New Englanders don't know
how to win, they're rookies at winning anything. Mark my words, "Yankees suck, Yankees suck" will
be chanted all during the parade.
If a New Englander wins at Lacross or shuffleboard they'll still chant "Yankees suck! Yankees suck!"

Yeah, you have the right to bitch and moan Loki, if my team lost, I would be doing the same. However, I am in the fortunate position that my team won. Superbowl Champs. So, they come in from Logan lastnight to Foxboro, Gillette Stadium, there's about ten thousand fans lined up infront of the stadium, and right where the buses will be letting the guys off. So all the guys get off, not only do they take turns holding up the Vince Lombardi trophy, and walking it slowly up and down where the fans are so that they can see it, but they go closer to the crowd and let as many fans as they can see touch the trophy. They did this for an hour, they talked to the fans, signed autographs, Bob Kraft's son wouldn't really talk to the news people because he wanted to make sure all of the fans who had been out there for four hours waiting for the guys had a chance to touch the trophy.
Adam Viniatieri, who came earlier and wasn't on the buses, drove down to the stadium with his wife and baby before the guys got there to sign autographs. These are guys that appreciate their fans. Alot of you aren't from New England, Boston in particular, but we are crazy crazy fans, especially for the Patriots, Red Sox, second. The last time they won the superbowl, Bob Kraft got off the bus and waved and the players signed a few autographs, that was it. This time, they were all there for about an hour trying to let all the fans touch the trophy and just about all of them did. Patriots are a great team, and we are great fans. But I STILL wish i could go to the parade today.

sucked! I've seen teams suck before, but they were the suckiest bunch

Well, now that we have Homer's opinion on the matter...
What a great game. I'm about as big a Panthers fan as they come (I was trying to decide if I should wear my Sam Mills jersey for the game), and I was crushed by the events of the last 68 seconds. Today, however - I'm damn proud of the way my team played this season. If you had told me in the preseason that we were gonna make the playoffs, much less the Super Bowl, I'd have shook my head, laughed, and muttered something like "two years...maybe." Jake Delhomme, Super Bowl quarterback. Did anyone else feel like they had woken up in Bizarro World? :) Ah well, we're young, Kevin Dyson's ACL will be healed up by next season, and with any luck the good citizens of Charlotte won't crucify Mr. Kasay before they begin to remember his consecutive field goal streak from the first part of the season. To quote my favorite commercial from SB XXXVIII(I think that's right):
"The sun'll come out, tomorrow..."
As of today, we're all undefeated again. See ya next year.

I don't think Shay understands the subtle nuances of football. There are always bad calls on both sides of the ball. It just gets old and hell and you'd think that they would have their A game on for the damn Superbowl, but I could have called that game better.
We have until August to rehash every single play of every single game. We also have the right to bitch and moan about Kasey kicking that ball out of bounds at the end and/or the decision to go for 2 - twice and not make it just like we have not made it once this entire season. HOWEVER, you will not catch me saying one bad thing about Fox ever because he took this team from 1-15 to the SuperBowl in two years - he is and always will be the man.
Seifert - I just don't get it. Maybe it's that I could have coached Steve Young and Rice but the kinds of decisions he made gave me an aneurysm. Seriously, I especially go nuts over piss poor clock management. He once called time-out just to save enough time for New Orleans to get the ball back enabling Ricky Williams whom I think is cool except when he plays against us, to score a touchdown with time running out. It was a running joke that whole season about what new and inventive way Seifert would find to pull defeat out of the jaws of victory.
and no I don't care if that's how he spells his name or not

That was a fumble when they called it an incomplete pass. He took what two steps and moved the ball to the other hand before he what didn't catch it. The only problem was that they blew the whistle too early - idiots. I'd have to see the pass interference call again to argue the point there but my biggest gripe was that spot on the 4th down conversion. That was HUGE and wrong.

All I have to say is the Panthers lost, so of course all of the Panthers fans are going to come out crying and whining today because their team is not the better of the two. If they won last night, they wouldn't even be talking about these calls. And, if these calls had been called on the Patriots, it also wouldn't be an issue. But, for me, it's all good. I have nothing to complain about, because my team is the Superbowl Champs.

Bullshit Loki. The refs called it the same for both teams. In fact there were more questionable calls against the Pats then there were the Panthers. It was a fumble, not an incomplete pass, and it was not offensive pass interference against Troy Brown. It was a good game, well played, and relatively well officiated considering the stresses of the event.

The regular season games don't go on all that long. Normally, they're over in 3 hours. Last night there seemed to be a committee meeting at midfield on every single call. It was tedious as hell and after all of that, they still fucked up about half the time. I'm telling you Peppers was being held constantly. Fuck, I could stop him if I could hold, ok maybe not but I'm sure as hell come a lot closer to being able to stop him if I held on every play.

I only watch the Pats, and I've only been watching them this year. I can't complain about anything, I'm as happy as can be about that game. Especially considering after the last touch down the Panthers made I thought we blew it until Viniatieri came out for the kick because I knew he wasn't going to blow that one. It was madness here in downtown Boston last night.

Im the same exact way Shay. I only point that one out because Im not one of those people that really watch football until the Superbowl. I then choose one of the 2 teams based upon name/mascot. I chose Panthers over Patriots cause panthers (the animal) kick ass. But when someone that knows absolutely nothing about football and watches only one game a year gets really pissed off and actually screams at the TV (like the hard-core game watchers) about a really really bad call should say something. I mean it was an obvious fuckup.
But yeah they were making bad calls all night. I was watching with my dad who played all throughout HS and knows a LOT about calls and all that neat stuff. At least a lot more then I do looked at me shocked when I started shouting. He was also getting pissed at the calls I knew nothing about to say they were wrong or not.
I can now understand where a football fan can say "The ref was fucking blind the whole damn game." It makes sense to me now.

I gave this sport a chance last night. I watched, it keeps stopping. WHY must it keep stopping? They run about 4 inches and have to sop and try again. For about FIVE FUCKING HOURS! Needless to say after eighty five advert breaks I eventually snoozed off as the score remained 0-0. It's rubbish, why's it so popular? Endzone on the Spectrum was a good game though. All I have to say about Vinnie is that he may have blown 2 field goals but that last one made up for it.
He doesnt suck or kicks ass. He just made a kickass play when it really mattered.
When they showed the stats and it said that the 4 FGs he missed were at that stadium there was a glimmer of hope. A small one. But a glimmer that he would fuck it up from the pressure and blow the game.
You do have to admit that the Refs were fucking morons. I mean I know shit about football but that call in the 2nd quarter saying it was incomplete over a fumble was complete bullshit. If you have time to position the ball so you can run with it then you have posession of that ball. He didnt lose control of the ball until after he was sacked. If Im correct that constitutes a fumble.

Normally Id be pissed and say something like "You suck more" and then leave a -2 and be on my way.
But all I have to say is that EVERYONE knows that if the Ref didnt make that bullshit call with the Fumble (it was NOT an interception) in the 2nd quarter that the Panthers woulda scored one more touchdown or fieldgoal and just barely beat out the Patriots.
But you dont get a - rating cause you admitted that the Panthers gave them a run for their money.
Anyone that says the Panthers didnt is a complete moron. Pats won by a fieldgoal in the last 4 seconds. There was no way in hell that the Panthers woulda been able to run a 100 yard touch down in 4 seconds. Although if they managed to do that then it would have been some sort of historical moment. In which the Panthers would have totally ruined the Patriots shit real good. I wish that happened.

I'm not buying the accident story either. The whole show was crap. Why didn't they just have dogs playing Frisbee - not that's a show stopper. The best received half time show I've ever seen was the pee wee football championship. Some kid who looked about the size of a Frisbee dog intercepted the ball and took off for an 80 yard touchdown run to wild cheering from 70,000 people. I had to wonder how they got that kid down from the clouds and into the team bus on the way home.

If there's any football dynasty, it's gotta be the SanFrancisco 49ers. Went to 5 Superbowls, WON 5 superbowls.
Plus they had the greatest QB of all-time. Joe Montana. He's a dynasty by himself.
Granted, the 49ers haven't been to the Superbowl since 1995, but from their first Superbowl in '82 to their last in '95, they were a team to be reckoned with.

Dynasty, I think not. Damn lucky, very talented, team oriented and hard workers hell yeah. There may not be another New England team as good as these guys ever.
Vinateri a hero? Um yeah he pulled it off in the end but in the end it doesn't make up for the two he missed because we wouldn't have been in that position in the first place if he hadn't missed those first two.

Oops, that was only supposed to go through once, and that was for Kristen. To Loki, no, it wasn't a blowout, I didn't think it was gonna be. I was on the edge of the couch the whole time, almost had about 3 heart attacks, and really thought we were gonna lose when the Panthers got their last touch down. But with 8 seconds left, I knew Viniatieri was gonna get that kick through. Even though, he choked twice earlier. And yes, I saw that little scene at half time, out of a room full of people, only me and one other kid saw it. This morning on the radio they were talking about it, I guess tons of parents are complaining and they said MTV will never host a half time show again.

Wow, maybe you are worth a shit afterall, Shay.
Worth my first -2 of the day, that is. Five poorly structured sentences do not constitute a good post.

Hey, at least it was a good game. You have no idea how afraid I was that we were going to get blown away like all those years the Bills kept fucking up my Superbowl party. For damn sure, no one went to sleep and no one changed the channel. The first quarter was fugly, but after that it livened up.
Did you see "it", you know the boob incident at half time? I missed it because quite frankly I can't be expected to sit still that long so I wasn't watching the half time debacle.
