I just got back from a walk around my neighborhood, one of the most surreal experiences of my life. I walked outside and it was bright and quiet. I looked around and saw everything, the bark on the tree in front of me, the shoveled walk that the slow drift of snow blanketed with a soft downy cover, a man walking his German Shepard a few blocks away. The world was alight with an eerie glow, everywhere I looked I saw.
The park was a vast expanse of white, reflecting every little light. All I could do was stand looking in awe, tilting my head back to see.
These are the moments that make life worth living. These small experiences of serenity and surreal, these moments of truth and emptiness. You look around and realize these experiences are what is good, why you get up in the morning and stay up at night.
