This isn't my first post just the first post under this user name. If you've ever heard the song hey ya by outkast.. I'm sorry, I had to listen to it too, more than once. It hurt worse than when I got battery acid in my eye.
Granted, its not my kind of music because I listen to rock, but two years ago I did listen to rap, therefore I'm entitled my opinion on it. It is pure shit. Why do they play it on my local rock station? They have played a few rap songs before and I didn't mind, but thats because they didn't suck near as much ass as this one. I saw the music video too. Hes a fucking fag, I approve of his death.
As bad as that is, I found an even worse song. 'I believe in a thing called love' by The Darkness. They try to be this whole new type of punk or whatever the fuck they are trying to be and instead they only manage to set the bar for being shitty. To the singer, you are a male, if you want to sound like a girl, chop your fucking balls off. That way you can't reproduce, you pussy. To the musicians, kill yourselves, soon.
I'm done for now, all you will ever hear me do on this site is bitch about things I hate and my life, so get used to it. If you've heard either of those songs tell me what you think about them.

I hate pop, but I like outkast's Hey Ya song because it's actually pretty damn original. He has an original sound and it sounds good. Hate me for it or whatever my fav bands will always be tool, NiN, system of a down, boy hits car, placebo, manson... you get the idea. The point is, don't hate pop music because it's pop, just cause it sucks dick and is totally manufactured.

That was the worst post about anything i have ever read! Fucking Christ, if you don't like Outkast or the Darkness, don't fucking listen to them! I hate rod stewart, but it doesn't mean i'm gonna post shit all over the place about how much i think he sucks. +2 because that "The Darkness" song is the worst piece of crap I have ever been forced to listened to in my life.
I work at a music store where both songs have been on our loop tape (the music track that plays in the background of our store, usually featuring new or popular songs). This is the second month in a row that "I Belive in a Thing Called Love" has been on said tape, and I'm one more listen away from driving railroad spikes into my ears.
It is worse than Outkast, worse than the Bee Gees, worse even than Bjork.
And now DC 101 (my favorite radio station) has started playing this garbage on the air!

I love the song 'Hey Ya'. Probably because I've seen the video. Strangely enough, it seemed more like a tribute to the oldies genre than a parody of it. I respect that and I think that singer is fun to watch and listen to.

And yea Chuck, that was one of the main things that bugged me about the song. Alot of rap songs piss me off when I hear them, thats why I stay off rap stations... But when they invade your rock stations, its like what the fuck, now I gotta put in a CD. I wouldn't hate the song nearly as much if it hadn't made me get up on many occasions (most the time stoned) to change the station, and having to get up when I'm stoned really pisses me off.

First of all, I'd just like to comment that Hey Ya isn't really rap, and that could possibly be the reason, heaven forbid, why they play the song on pop and rock stations (oh my!). He's not rapping, really, it's more like melodically chanting. It's called "trying a new direction", loser. That's what musicians do! They try to grow as artists and not stick to the same crap alt-rock Nickelback-style emo music that you might be so fond of. Be a real man and find some interest in better music.

So basically, you change tastes in music according to what's cool in the locker room this second (or what you think is going to make you seem "hard," "cool," or "different,") and you know nothing about one of the major icons of american pop culture. Great.
I was only going to give this a minus one, because I actually really like OutKast, and have for several years, but then you started acting like a jackass. I can't stand radio or music tv. Some of it is interesting, but for the most part, its all pretty much the same stuff, over and over and over. Now...about The Darkness. I want to give them points, because they DO stand out. However, that's not always a good thing. In this case, The Darkness scares the hell out of me. Are they punk? Are they metal? Who the hell knows.
As for Outkast, I'm not a big rap fan, so I'll keep my comments to myself. I know a lot of people who like them though. All things considered, they're very good at what they do.

I'm mixed on the Outkast song, it is catchy, yet has a lot of crap in it especaily the "awrightawrightawrightawrightawrightawrightawrightawrightawrightawrightawrightawright" part.
But the wife likes it, so I have to comply with hearing it.
As far as the other song, I've only seen the videos and it does indeed make a throwback to when hard rock/metal was actually good, even though these aren't exactly what I would call the best the world has to offer for bringing back real metal.
