Everything You Wanted To Know About Hemp And Marijuana

Hemp or Cannabis as it is scientifically referred to is the fastest growing
biomass source on Earth

Hemp is 26 times stronger than cotton and lasts
10 times longer

If we were to farm only 6% of the country's available farmland with hemp we could meet all of the
country's Industrial energy and transportation needs

We can produce 4 times as much paper from Hemp as we can from trees at one
fourth the cost and 1/5 the pollution and it is 10 times stronger and lasts ten times longer

Betsy Ross made America's first flag "Old Glory" from Hemp fiber

The first 3 presidents of the U.S. including George Washington and Abraham Lincoln smoked pot

The Constitution and Declaration of Independence were printed on Hemp paper

The soldier's clothes during the revolutionary war were made from Hemp

Hemp utilizes the sun more efficiently than
virtually any other plant on the planet, reaching 10-20 feet or more in a single short growing season

Hemp can even be grown in almost any climate or soil condition on Earth

Hemp is softer than cotton, warmer than cotton, more water absorbent than
cotton, has three times the tensile strength of cotton and many times more durable

Hemp requires no chemicals or pesticides to grow

Hemp can be used as a fuel source that is good for the atmosphere

Hemp can be used as a medicine to cure stress, rheumatism, asthma, delirium tremens, migraine headaches, pms cramps, glaucoma, nausea, tumors, and anorexia

Cannabis / Hemp / Marijuana seeds are the highest source of complete vegetable protein on the entire Earth

CANNABIS/HEMP/MARIJUANA is the only known plant that can be grown from the Equator to the Arctic Circle and to the Antarctic Circle

The Surgeon General of the U.S. has reported 0 deaths from Marijuana

Hemp actually is legal over here in Australia. Not marijuana though of course. Although we have a community called 'nimbin' who are basically a mini amsterdam as far as the police give a shit, and they're shitting themselves because they've had such a good run but the hemp farmer with his impotent (as far as THC levels are concerned) crops are due east of them and their plants are all going to get fertilized by the pollen and become harmless little weeds

Oh and growing hemp hasn't revolutioned Australia yet :P

We can tell you made all that up. "The first 3 presidents of the U.S. including George Washington and Abraham Lincoln smoked pot." Abraham Lincoln wasn't one of the first 3 presidents. Just goes to prove pot heads are morons.

Lucifer. I smoke pot, and don't want it legalized without heavy regulation by the government. I know what it's like to drive while buzzed (I make a habit not to anymore), and believe me, I don't want anyone else operating a car while on weed.

As for being taken by propaganda, that really depends on what propaganda you read. The propaganda written by "High Times" is just as bad as this "War on Drugs" crap.

If you want a good read, then check this book out: "Understanding Marijuana: A look at the scientific evidence" by Mitch Earleywine.

This is not everything I've ever wanted to know about hemp and marijuana.
Simply copying details from another site is doing nothing to help the cause.

What you essentially wrote is, "I like pot and I wish you did too. Here's a
bunch of numbers and statements I looked up. Does it make you want to smoke
pot? Well? Isn't I smart?"

Better luck next time.

Bravo! I applaude your attempt to let these non pot smokers realize the importance of Marijuana, the miracle plant. These gullable fools will not understand the importance of pot until we get this country to legalize it. Then the medical community as well as the average citizen will look back upon the past and wonder why they didn't remove the blinders sooner. All those who gave you a negative are seeping with ignorance. It is them who are taken by the propaghanda, not you my friend.

Vague ineffeciant post. There are the facts, but why not elaborate on them? Most of what you said could be summed up with:

It was once and still, for the most part, is a natural resource that's readily available for the populace to use. During America's beginning it was the one of the few durable resources that could be used for an assortment of products. It's very versatile, but you're forgetting that the Industrial Revolution still hadn't took place, so it was one of the few resources they could use. The fact remains untruthful about it actually "curing" anything with which you mentioned. Truth be told, it just postpones the brains ability to think and respond to [ex: rheumatism] becuase it puts you in a state of delirium. Prove to me that it actually can positively without a doubt cure something, and then can you gain justice from me.

The fact that this plant is capable of being grown throughout the world despite differentiating climates still holds no reasons to use hemp for anything. You're forgetting the reason for which it is currently used, thus underthinking the truth of the matter, which is: you smoke weed and you think that by justifying a few facts, maybe then we would all realize how important it is. As for the Surgeon General reporting zero deaths, that's true only to the extent that he cannot report indirect causes of death by the drug, in which case there have been hundreds. Such as smoking weed while driving, and crashing into another vehicle and killing yourself, a passenger, or other victims involved. These cannot be accounted for during a study of direct deaths caused by marijuana.

Elaborate more on the subject next time.

Not the best-written or most accurate post, but +2 for trying to speak out about marijuana.

"the first three presidents including George Washington, and Abraham Lincoln"

I'm not a history major, but I believe that Lincoln was the 16th President.

As for the farming of hemp, it is all relatively true. It has been around for thousands of years, and used in ships rigging world wide. A very versitile plant, but none-the-less a controversile plant.

+2 for posting some facts that most don't know.
-3 for confusing hemp production with recreational smoking of marijuana
+1 because I feel generous today.

If we could bring down the THC in the plants to a much lower level, say less than 1%, then I'd feel comfortable with liscenced farmers growing it on fenced in plots. Otherwise, marijuana is STILL illegal, and it isn't going to be legal for a long time.
