In the past couple of years a new music festival has emerged that has knocked the socks off of the thousands in attendance. This festival brings together various types of music over three days and offers everyone an incredible experience. This festival is Bonnaroo.
This year's Bonnaroo music festival is possibly going to be the greatest one yet. Here is the line-up of acts so far:
The Dead
Dave Matthews and Friends
Bob Dylan
Trey Anastasio
Willie Nelson
David Byrne
Primus
Wilco
Burning Spear
String Cheese Incident
Ani DiFranco
moe.
Gov't Mule
Los Lobos
Galactic
Yo La Tenga
Femi Kuti
Medeski Martin & Wood
Gomez
Yonder Mountain String Band
Damien Rice
North Mississippi Allstars
Country Hill Review
Beth Orton
My Morning Jacket
Gillian Welch
The Del McCoury Band
Taj Mahal
Sam Bush Band
Vida Blue feat. The Spam Allstars

Leftover Salmon
Cut Chemist
Chris Robinson and New Earth Music
Umphrey's McGee

Is that awesome or is it awesome? Combine all of this great music with camping and perhaps even a few illicit substances, oh who am I kidding, A LOT of illicit substances, and you've got Bonnaroo in a nutshell. I can't wait until June rolls around.

Who would you say is more obscure? Damien Rice is a hauntingly beautiful sounding Irish singer. My Morning Jacket is incredible. Kings of Leon is noisy Southern Rock, sounds kind of like...hmmm.early Lynyrd Skynyrd?

haha, i puposefully was putting out that 'dirty hippy' 'vibe' for you quarter.
i'm about as far as you might expect from a dirty hippy (athlete, business major, hygene advocate)
i'm not telling you to go, but you probably would be suprised if you did. camping, drinking, trouble making and all that fun stuff.
sure there's plenty of stinky hippies though, but they're pacifists. kick 'em in the balls if need be.

Willie Nelson, Neko Case, and Los Lonely Boys
**it's about the people, dig?**
You want me to sit in the mud with a bunch of stoners and non-bathing hippy types in the middle of summer, you're going to have to pay me, not the other way around.
Oh, and the last person to say 'dig' and not look like a clown was Shaft, and I'm pretty sure you're not him.

remember you're not paying just for the music
bonnaroo is an experience, man
it's about the people, dig?
seriously though, i was going to name all the bands i was excited about but i realized it would be at least half the list. but ani d., trey, moe, and mm&w are worth the price alone

Quartermain, I'm sure you haven't heard of a lot of these bands. I haven't heard of a lot of them either, but that's half the fun. You will be able to discover a lot of cool music that you might never have an opportunity to hear.
Just out of curiosity, who are the bands that you are referring to?

Trey Anastasio will be playing solo and with Dave Matthews. That is one thing that I'm really excited about. I am also very excited to jam the night away with the crazy sounds of Medeski Martin & Wood who will probably be playing from 12 PM to 4 AM. God, I sound like I should be getting paid to promote this.
