just to prove how retarded american foreign policy is, hear this;

they go to war and invade a country who they "suspect" to have weapons of mass destruction, or ties to terrorists, and also claim to be great liberators of the oppresses iraqi people.
yet a nation that fully admits to having a weapons program, and extravertently calls for the destruction of the United States, remains intact. North Korean children are being brainwashed into thinking that the only way world peace is possible is through the destruction of the United STates.
over 50% of children under the age of 7 suffer from premanent malnutrition..
so why the FUCK isnt America liberating these people? cause theres no oil in Korea, thats why. Why arent they removing a leader who they KNOW 100% has weapons of mass destruction, instead of going after one who they 'suspect' to have these weapons?
bc american foreing policy is pure bullshit, based totally on the intersts of a few greedy, rich white men.
take a look at the US military build up in the persian gulf starting in the 70's.. as soon as america knew they were going to be dependent on oil from this region, they slowly started to build up military bases encircling the area... they are ready to seize the area when ready.. America also has active troops and bases most notably in japan, south korea, afghanistan, the balkans, africa, now haiti, and not to mention their worldwide 'less-important' military activity. if thats not a form of imperialism, then i dont know what is.

Of course let's take out N. Korea I can't believe we looked it over! How silly of us. Who cares if they are allies with China, who cares if China has the largest standing army in the world and WMD's to boot! Who cares if we were to invade N. Korea they would most likely rain nuclear choas on S. Korea thus initiating WWIII. Yahhh let's attack everybody!!

-------------------

Being stationed over here i "could" tell you what you don't want to hear and what will put you in your place. Since I value my career though, I will list only a googled source that may or may not be true.

http://carlisle-www.army.mil/usawc/Parameters/03spring/hodge.pdf -check out the bottom of page 81. Good stuff.

No one can speak on this subject unless they have actually been here. DDT knows the threat matrix. Kracka does also. All you have to do is come over here and ask any local korean how they feel and you will change your viewpoint on this subject.

Sadly, governments will always act in self-interest, but I find it hard to believe that America simply decided arbitrarily to attack Iraq- it's not like they stood in front of a globe and deliberated over which country to bomb next! I'd rather not defend George W Bush though, I think he has concentrated too much on foreign policy, using a flimsy domestic pretext to mask economic imperialism, when really domestic economic and social issues are far more pressing. But hey, come November hopefully people will realise that a successful war does not make a successful politician. Just look at Margaret Thatcher.

**nice try to discredit myarguement by pointing out a grammatical mistake.**

I think you do a pretty good job of discrediting your own 'argument' by sounding like that guy on the street corner who mumbles to himself and wears a tin foil hat. Plus, once you start making up words, the issue is not really 'grammatical mistakes' so much as it is 'lack of a grasp of the English language.'

See, if a country doesn't have the capability to harm us, we can claim that they are endangering us and then invade and conquer without any real danger to our homeland.

However, if a country actually does have the capability to harm us, then diplomacy is the right way to go because even though we would now have a valid reason to invade, the political ramifications of having a nuclear weapon launched at California would be a bit much to handle.

Ok, imagine this, Korea wants to go to war with us. The reasons don't matter. They launch a huge attack and one of two things happens. They wipe America off the earth, or we stop the attack and wipe them from the face of the earth.

There existed a situation with the USSR called "Mutally Assured Destruction". This means that to even start the ball rolling for such an act of hostility would render both parties deceased.

I can't imagine that Korea would place themselves in the position of thinking that their country would be the survivor of such an act.

There will never be an act of hostility by the North Koreans towards the United States. Period.

I hate stupid people.

1. We aren't going to attack North Korea because the capital of South Korea is within artillary range of DMZ. The have about 1,600 artillary pieces fixed in place that would kill
millions of South Koreans within an hour of any military action. That and the Chinese could intervene. If those two facts were changed, we would have already kicked North Korea's ass decades ago. As it is, there is no military option to the North Korean problem.

2. Only about 10 percent of the foreign oil America imports comes from the Middle east. We get most of it from Canada, Mexico, and Venizuala.

But rage on with your conspiracies about how the U.S. is only after oil, even though Saddam was willing to give us all the oil we wanted to avoid our attack.

You're thinking is not thought out.

Answer these questions for me.

Why would Korea attack us?

What would Korea do after they attacked us? (ie. what's the point)

What do they have to gain by attacking us?

Do you believe that they believe that by attacking us, they wouldn't just be handing over their government and country as their fall from power would be instantanious. The rest of the world would shit all over Korea. There is such a thing as self-preservation.

I'll answer my questions for you as I don't plan on turning this into a debate.

Korea would never attack us. Korea has nothing to gain by going to war with the United States. Korea is a piss ant nation.

After attacking us, Korea wouldn't do anything because Japan would freak out on them, China would freak out on them (and send troops) far quicker then the US would freak out on them. Their government would collapse under the pressure and South Korea would be crossing the border with every gun, stick and slingshot they could muster. North Korea is not asking for a civil war.

Korea has nothing to gain by attacking us. I said this already. They are on the other side of the world. They are like Iraq, they never showed to be a threat.

You and lots of other people in this country must stop the belief that America can just interfere with whomever we want to as if we have some kind of God given right to do so.

why do you find it so hard to believe that korea couldt send a ICBM with a nuclear warhead? ya maybe one could be intercepted, but what if 6 were launched at the same time.. or what if one goes undetected? there are an exponetial amount of posibilities.
it is entirely possible. also, a determined, zealous enemy is the worst to have. one way or another, i can see n.korea tryin to do sonething at some point.

Bob, i define imperialism as a nation placing itself above all others (based on a beleif in a divine right - which Bush seems to think america has, with his numerous references to God and morality) and therefore feeling it has the right to go to any area of the world to pursue its own interests, and to better itself at the expense of others. (as did Britain, the mother of imperialism). i would also add to my defintion the idea of having 'control' over areas other than that of a states boudaries to secure resources (military bases in the persian gulf), or to have a military outpost in areas of intersts (as is Israel for the US in the mid east, and south korea/Japan in the pacific rim).

however, i would be in favor of an invasion of the n.korea, as they are increasingly becoming a serious threat to the US, which makes them a threat to myself.

i also have some great stories about my trip to san antonio, i will write'em probably tomorrow.

I'm getting a bit sick of having my country called imperialist. I do not believe America is Imperialist. An imperialist nation goes out and impresses itself upon other countries - like England. Or China. Yes America has imperialist tendencies, as does every country in the world, excluding my good buddies in Australia. If you do view America as imperialist please define how you view Imperialism.
