Seriously, i dont get it...Tagging stuff has GOT to be the single most STUPID activitiy ever. i mean it serves absolutly NO puropse!
Why the FUCK would someone want to deface someones property with something that IDENTIFIES WHO YOU ARE?

Graffiti and spray-art is mainly part of the unfortunate popularity Hip-Hop Culture that is spreading its evil parachute-pants across the north to the south to the east to the west. *cough*
i'm not a fan of anything to do with hip-hop "culture" (especialy the music.. i despise hip-hop) but the Grafitti tagging is the thing that really shits me.
Proper graffiti art is very clever and looks good, i wish i could do such clever painting with shades and blends.. all with spray-paint! but spray-art is quite different from "i-wish-i-was-ethnic-but-im-not" little highschool SHITS nicking a "Phat Poska" from art, or geography (both as usefull as eachother) and scrawling somthing like "clinga" or "phatdawg" or whatever other LAME STUPID PETTY BULLSHIT PATHETIC IMMITATION RAP NAME they've designated themselves for some super useful "street cred" (i know what i think of when i see "Clinga" like i did on the bus thismorning... and it isnt a hard-assed rapper G thats for certain)
"Street Cred" can lick my balls. and so can people who think tagging stuff is fun. I remember 2 guys wiwent to school with, who tagged stuff, and had streed-cred-aplenty, now theyre dropkicks of the highest caliber, driving round in shit cars without jobs, dealing and stealing DVD players for rent.
Who's fully sick now eh? i hope those 2 end up in gaol, tossing eachothers salad for fun.

I bet you've all seen this phenominon of pure, unadulterated Stupidity on busses, bus-stops and around malls.
its the little white rectangular label sticker with the tag on it for all your easy tagging desires.

i saw a white high-school aged shit, decked out in Wu-wear with an A4 sticker sheet that had his tag all over it, about 20 times, and he was walking around, peeling them off, and sticking them on things.

must agree.. tagging is destructive and tryhard, even though it provides me with a bit of interest of the long train ride each morning and afternoon. people who want to get their message across should come visit ubersite like us :-p.. though thered be less chance theyd have computers i guess.. :-/ unless theyre super tryhard

Alot of the people that tag are fucked up club kids trying to represent, whatever the fuck that means. Look at the entire scene of dance culture--they praise the DJ, not the muscians or bands, turntables are not an instrument, unless you scratch, and drugs don't make you cool or sexy or decadent...they make you wake up in a puddle of your own shit and piss with spray paint all over your hands and some homeless guy snuggling your balls. Yeah. Hip hop acts like Tribe Called Quest are the shit--but the 50 cent mutha fucker is just stone fucking dumb.

Tagging originated with gangs marking their territory.
Since then, it hasn't been limited to just that group of people. Seems like people just do it now because its rebellious and it gives them a rush. It's easy too , since you have to be pretty stupid to get caught spray painting a wall.

gonna have to say i agree. tagging is pretty retarded. in fact, most graffiti is. if you can't afford paper, how'd you get the spray-paint?

i disagree with you. tagging can be as artful as any graffiti. no need for sweeping generalizations. and all hip hop doesn't suck, either, in my opinion.
