This is my first and last post regarding how Übersite sucks, has changed, is not the same, has gone to shit, etc.
You people just don't seem to get it, even though you learned it in kindergarten. All your life you could never resist retaliation.
I don't know how it was for you, miss user # 654 (arbitrary), back "in the day," but I can only imagine that you wanted a place to post some creative writing or, at the very least, some of your thoughts on the world, life, fucking, etc., and get some feedback. I will say it again: FEEDBACK. I am only # 5485, or something like that, but I don't see a whole lot of feedback on this site. Bitches, yes. Shitposts, yes. "Shitpost," by the way, is a real word now. It's what Squattail does. It's also any empty ass kissing piece of shit post. Shitpost. Shit-post. When you see one, you need to act intelligently, not emotionally. Here's what you do:
When you see a shitpost, and have opened it and realized, as you began to read it, that it is indeed a shitpost, CLOSE IT. That's right - that's the answer. Go back to the list of posts as if nothing has happened. DO NOT under any circumstance rate the shitpost. The shitpost is designed to get a rating from you, of any numerical value - only the absolute value matters to the shitposter.
Hits are unavoidable, but the shitposter doesn't care about hits if there are no ratings. Soon he will be pissed as hell and will modify his behavior to get attention. IT IS NO DIFFERENT THAN A DOG OR A BABY - GIVE POSITIVE ATTENTION TO DESIRED BEHAVIOR, IGNORE THE UNDESIRABLE BEHAVIOR.
Do your fucking part. You are so easily sucked in to the shitposter's plan. You bitch and rant, tell him to die, hang himself by his nuts, ingest napalm, fuck himself to death, etc. ad nauseum. ARM YOURSELF with knowledge.
Soon you will recognize the shitposter by the name under his shitpost. It's okay to check in with him every once in a while to see if he has grown up a little bit. But do not rate him until you are sure that he has seen the error of his ways.
This is not supposed to be funny. That's probably why it isn't. So, pay attention to the shit I am saying, and better the place. There are so many good posts, and yes, they ARE harder to find, even than when I first signed on. But they are there. Quit bitching about quality and help to fucking CREATE the environment you say you miss. America - full of bitching, insolent, entitled whores. ACT RESPONSIBLY. Now. You can do it. Now go do the right thing.

Yup, I know what you mean. I really liked that 49 degree Bering Sea post. And I honestly commented on it and gave real feedback- http://www.ubersite.com/m/24477#365654 but then some chauncey ass jumped all over me for it. Since then, I haven't rated too many things honestly, because I don't feel like getting into long arguements with morons. So most of the time it's either "+2 good job" or "-2 fuck you" or something to that effect. Anyhow, I'll go through and give the rest of your stuff a chance. Oh, don't really bother with mine though. I remember you commenting on how I should write something "meaningful" that tells something personal about me. Well, I don't really do that here. I just post goofy shit. I'm not out to change anyone's life, I just want to give my friends (the 6 or so that I know here) a good cheap laugh. If that makes me a bad writer, then oh well. Anyhow, now that I've successfully turned this into a chat room and a borderline gay conversation, I'm going to read your posts.

Okay then, peace.
But, know that I have only EVER given you a -2 based on what I read in that post. And that goes for every -2 I have ever given. And, I knew you gace me that one just to be a dick and it pissed me off. I try hard to think of stories to write, and if you don't like them, cool - that's one thing. You know what I am saying.

I see your point completely. Although, seriously, I have never carried over emotion from one post to the next with the exception of the ONE time I did it to you, just to be a prick. Sorry for that. I don't think what you say on one post has shit to do with another, so I never hold that against anyone.
Here's the deal with why I get pissed and defensive- I only write on this site for the benefit of about 6 people. I know four of them personally. They are the only ones I care about here. It irks me when some keyboard cowboy shows up on my post and starts throwing around -2s with bullshit like "fuck you asshat" or something to that effect. The majority of negative reviews I get are the result of morons or highschool kids who are playing online and just for shits and giggles they tell strangers to go fuck themselves. Since they're playing around, I'll play too and provoke them more. I always thought that's what this was here- you were just fucking with me and I was fucking with you back. Hell, it's been kind of fun to see some the shit you've written- my favorite so far "you couldn't hit the backside of your dick with your nutsack." I laughed outloud on that one. Anyhow, I don't hold anything against you, or the people who give me -2s. I don't give a fuck in real life. It's just having fun on the net while I'm bored at work.

I do not hate you.
I hate that you will -2 someone just because they did it to you. That reminds me of Squattail. I do not like that you seem to give low ratings with little thought, and post multiple -2's on someone. And, it is really principle - who cares about a rating? Well, I have not seen you once take a minus 2 without reacting negatively - you always say that the person doesn't "get it," when actually they may just not like it. This seems like a popularity thing to you. And, as you know by now, I really don't like the idea of using Uber names in a story, when we all know it is just to get attention, REGARDLESS OF WHO THOUGHT OF IT FIRST. That is between you all.
So, I have avoided your posts, as I said I would, because I do not think that there is fair play happening. But I do not hate you - I don't even know you.

Very true.
By the way, do you actually hate me and see me as a shit poster?

True enough. I used to flame all the livelong day and eventually realized that the idiots were masturbating to the scathing replies anyway, so it wasn't worth it.
However, if a post has a horrible overall rating, I'm guilty of clicking on it to read what PMJ had to say about it. I'm sorry, but he's hilarious and his replies usually get phantom +2's from me. So in the end, it's worth it.

If there is one thing that bothers me the most about an open web forum, or even in the matter of reality, it is when people tell other people what to do. In the last "month" [Feb. 02 at 18:30 to Mar. 02 at 18:30] 868 users have joined Ubersite. Now I can assure without a shadow of a doubt, that no more than 50% of those users has:
A) posted a single message or
B) gotten a rating greater than 0, and that is giving them the benefit of the doubt that at least half of them can write at all.
Now the state of Ubersite is one that will continually be questioned, and most likely commented on in a derogatory manner. This is something that has been going on ever since 1000+ users climbed aboard the Ubership. I cannot deny that with 6482 [and counting] users, I expect each one of them to post something that I will read and be interested in. It's just not realistic. Most topics are I either hold no opinion on at all, am indifferent on, or I just don't feel like arguing about because it's been done too many times. Which leads to another problem.
Every [relatively] new user gets heckled, hassled, and bombarded by comments during their first few posts about their writing. Users complain about how things have already been done before, they whine about the lack of paragraphs and/or the lack of content. Content or more importantly, lack-there-of, is a very important aspect of a post. If a post contains less than a paragraph of sentences, chances are it shouldn't have been posted (exclusions are photoshops, pictures, or whatever 'the people' think is worthy at the time).
It's a disappointment that the majority of the users post a horrible drawing, a few sentences, a random though, a photo hijacked from a website, or some other waste of time. You can't expect every user to please you, but you don't have to comment on everything you read. Sure, everyone has an opinion, and most people want others to know it, but for the better of this site, not rating something that another user posts just to get ratings, is an idea worthy of thought.
Nobody posts nothing but gems, but many do post quality majority of the time. Other users like to express creative ideas in the form of a story, while others make a foundation with humor, some politics, romance - the idea is that there are plenty of options and reasons for someone to post, but if you dislike how Ubersite is, maybe taking a stand isn't helping the problem, but worsening it. My only suggestion, is not to instigate furthering the problem, but creating a firmer future by ignoring it.

The morons are not really getting picked on though. That's the point. You think if you tell them to fuck off in some clever way that you will get to them. You won't, but they have already gotten to you.

True, but it is disheartening to see the "works" of Squattail, for example, always on the recently reviewed list, just because people hate him and have to give him shit.
