I thought I let everyone know..
I got fired today.. at first, I didn't feel anything and still don't feel much.. I just have to be careful with my money from now.. which isn't a problem. I have 16K+ saved, but -2500 is going to a lawyer. And I have close to -3K which is on my credit cards(I hate credit cards, I will cut down on the credit card usage after I pay this off). And I am moving soon (can't live with dirty pigs. No'mo), so that will cost me -1500 (more like 1200 but I like to overguss[what's the right word here]) for the first month and last month rent.
I have right now:
6K in bank (which I cashed from my etrade stocks, to pay for my lawyer and moving and now that I got fired, I can use that money)
10K in IBM stocks from work(which I am cashing out)
so I'll be left with around 11 to 12K in the bank after everything is said and done. (-1500 is going to the lawyer, I already paid him 1K, and I'll pay off my 3K on my creditcard)
Side Note: Rizzo good idea calling bankruptcy, I think you made the right choice, just be care with money from now on I guess
For a while I have been thinking about going to law school because my job wasn't that challenging and my license was suspended and so I was still driving around because I had to go work. man gotta doesn't he, thus he has to drive but RMV won't give work license, it's a long story so I got pull over by a piggy the other day so that's where the lawyer comes in.
Anyway, I won't have to worry about that anymore.. naganag not gonna work there no more (m).. I am done with that place. No more fuckin Cubes, I just hate cubes. stilling in cubes,there all day like a dork starting a the screen and not using any of my brain cells. I hated that.
I also have been thinking about moving to city(boston), but I like the town I live in, I just don't the people I live with(too messy). I live in Somerville,MA(15 min. north of boston) near Tufts University(maybe you heard of it), also very close to MIT and Harvard.
So since I have got fired.. I can study up on LSAT and go to law school earlier than I thought (I was planning to go to law school starting next year but I can start earlier now)
Corny as this may sound, I like to look at the glass half full. So I wasn't that worried when my boss said You are teminated starting now, because of this post that someone found while doing a search on google from my work.

Well IBM has this policy on publishing customer information... In the post I pasted one of them files that we review to get data and these files are either e-mailed or ftped to us from the customer.
Some dude from IBM was doing a search on google and that link came up.. and he clicked on it and saw what he saw.. which is the file.. he reports that me boss. He probably thinks.."umm Jess. Let's click on View user Info. and read his other posts
Now that post doesn't have any information that can point back to the customer in ANY WAY! The stupid file (these stupid files are called RIP files. No joke. So the extension for these files is something like notes.rip.. rip stand for Rest.In.Peace_motherfuckin_server, and these files get written at the time of the crash of the server. I support Domino Server which runs on window 2k or NT, similar to Microsoft exchange server (for the techy dudes here) anyway the file only contained on database name. MPApp.nsf.. which doesn't point to that particular customer in anyyy sorrtt of way. Because it's a simple file like any document on your system.
Now imagine my manger going though all my post and coming across this beautiful piece of work by me...

I described him as (guy is my new manager, little uptight and hard working.. good over all)
so he probably won't that upset.
This is how it happened. He pings me over sametime(same thing as AIM but for business world)
As he did in the past. "manish can you come in for a minute after you are off the phone"
I said "ok". He say "thanks"
I come in, close the door behind me as instructed.
He says "we found some stuff that you posted on a site which is against ibm policy, that we can't publish any customer info on the website. Right this moment, you are terminated. Please hand me your batch"
So what do I do, I stay calm as a mother fucker, just like Samuel Jackson when Tim Roth(sp?) was holding a gun over his head demanding the bag in the restaurant but I actually give my manager my batch unlike Samuel Jackson who doesn't give the gold to Tim (m).
I give him the batch and I ask him calmly "ohh what's the site name"..
He is like "uuuu uuuuuu uuber" (Those dots are hard to pronounce)
I said "ohh"
and I remember the exact post that he was talking about (the one above).
I said "That post was while ago, anyway I thought I was kicking ass at work, working hard" (I was working VERY hard at work, no slacking, little of uber and a lot of work, and I felt good)
He said "I am disappointed in you"
I am thinking..you are disappointed in my, Who are you my fuckin father. My dad tells me that he is disappointed in my every time I talk to him.. well he use too. Not anymore. He always had problem with giving Positive feedback, he mostly stuck to Negative feedback.. "umm, you are a loser manish".. thanks dad.. (FYI: we don't speak in English when we talk over phone, we speak Gujarati, he still lives in India)
So I say to him "well, that was a while ago"
And he says "Can you pack your stuff and bring with you whatever you can and whatever is left over I'll put in a box. You have to leave now but you will get paid for rest of the day"
So he walks over to my cube with me. I guess they have to do that incase I do something really stupid, like send out mass mailing to entire company but I wouldn't do something like.. who care. I got fired,. Yawn. It's not the first time that some got fired and it won't be the last.. so I grab my garbage bag from the trash and the another garbage bag underneath which the janitors leave below folded. So I had two big plastic bags and I go to work..
Umm packing I mean,,
I pack my stuff, 3 piece picture frame with picture of me and my gradpa(my mom's father)in the middle and two sky photos I had taken in Texas on my visit to my aunt in Vanhorn,tx, my two cactuses that I had bought from some random store, my cowboy hat at caroline gave me which she got from mexico, my elvis sunglasses.
And my manger is still waiting there.. I am like "here sit down" He says "it's ok" and he stands.
Than I go work o my computer, I save my bookmarks to a html file from my internet explorer, Phone Area code pdf that I use and my ws_ftp .ini so I can still use IBM ftp site (which I probably won't) add all three files to the zip file and send it to my yahoo e-mail.
I finish packing, another manger calls me a cab and because I requested it and out I go.. I am no longer a IBMer. Shit happens. Yawn, what you gonna do.. nigga gonna smoke more pot whatelse.
(on the side note, I don't let anything fuckup my mind if I am in a good mood, and I was in a GREAT mood because I didn't drive this morning and I had just set up a plan with a co-worker where I pay him 60 bucks a month and I get a ride because he goes from the same direction, so I was very happy. On another side note. I think it's ibm's loss, I am a smart(if I say so myself) and there are people at work who tell me that as well. My family tells me I am smart, I am smart dude but I need to grow up little bit more. I come from very smart family, very good family, I am no where like them(I also have this complex where doesn't matter how hard I work, sometime I just feel like I a shithead even if nothing is wrong).
My grandfather(dad's father) was a PHD in Sanskrit (professor in college in India) and my Dad is a Doctor in India so he is no dummy either (well, one time he did try to quit to med school and came home but grandfather sent him right back) and I studied computer science and engineering at Uconn (you might of heard of that university in Conneticut) and had internships and lucky a good resume which landed me the job at IBM.
Whatever happens, happens and it's what you how you react to it that matter. So I am not that upset over losing a job, and I am not looking for any kind pity because I am a grown ass kid.
Things happen for the better. I hated sitting in a cubicle anyway. PERFECT.
MY LIFE IS PERFECT.
Now I can become a lawyer and make 100K+ a year rather than making miserly 70K or something stupid like that in 3 years if I stayed at IBM., I got paid 57K a currently and I am 24 year of age. So when I come out swinging at age of 27, I'll be kicker of all asses. Just like Keanu Reeve in that movie where is a lawyer (m)
On another side note: I wonder if Bart would of deleted my post if had e-mailed him.
Bart I think you should delete certain post if the guy is about to lose his job. But in my case it worked out for the better.. but it doesn't happen all the time. You have to delete a post if the guy is about to lose him job. Don't delete mine.. there is no point now and it's not your or anybody's fault. Just the way life is =)
What comes in life next?
Only god knows..
